K-Tape
I recently have sustained a rotator cuff strain to the Teres minor and Infraspinatus.
I have used K-Tape to help support the rotator cuff in the acute stage of my rehab.
Theses two muscles are responsible for shoulder joint and abduction of the scapular. Along with the rest of the rotator cuff muscles they help support the stability of the shoulder.
Symptoms you may feel include shoulder pain, loss of range of motion, bruising as shown in the last photo and lost of strength.
Common causes of this injury include. Falling on an outstretched hand and overhead movements.
For me this was a case of overtraining causing a breakdown in tissue, during a deadlift the rotor cuff isometrical contracts to stabilise the shoulder joint causing to much stress on the rotor cuff. Not a case of to much weight but to much volume in my training week. To much to soon!
