Supporting vulnerable residents remains a key priority as we respond to the impacts of Storm Goretti.
Council teams are carrying out wellbeing checks, working closely with care homes and care providers, and supporting people who rely on essential services.
We are liaising with utility companies to prioritise households with additional needs, and our social care teams are responding to urgent concerns as they arise.
Welfare hubs and priority services are in place to support people affected by power cuts or loss of water, and partners across health, care and emergency services are working together to make sure help reaches those who need it most.
If you're worried about someone who may be vulnerable, please report your concerns through the appropriate council or emergency service channels so support can be put in place quickly.
For social care emergencies – Safeguarding Adults and Children - call 0300 1231 116
For the police, fire service or medical emergencies, call 999.
For non-emergencies, call the police on 101.
Use NHS 111 if you need urgent but not life-threatening health advice, or when your GP surgery is closed, and you cannot wait until it re-opens.
