Restorative Yoga ~ Tuesday’s 7.30pm & Friday’s 10am 👇
Restorative Yoga is the practice of supported asanas/postures, each held for longer than in a conventional yoga class.
With full support of props such as bolsters, pillows, blankets etc so you can fully relax the body & renew on all levels mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
At its core, restorative yoga is a practice of passive healing, by allowing time for longer asanas (postures) and deeper breathing, restorative yoga helps elicit the relaxation response. This response helps slow breathing, reduce blood pressure, and produce a feeling of calm, increased well-being and promotes self healing.
Calm, centering movements that allow you to reach a state of meditation through gentle stretching.
These yoga poses are to provide a unique experience of muscle relaxation, mindfulness and healing.
Restorative Yoga is a safe and recommended for people with acute or chronic injuries. It works as part of an overall treatment plan for chronic health conditions, people with a chronic illness will benefit from a regular practice of this style of Yoga.
Restorative yoga can also be used to help heal trauma survivors because of its positive effects on the nervous system. Typically, sequences consist of five or six poses. Combined with deep breathing and stillness, it provides an opportunity to feel and tolerate every sensation.
