As the seasons shift, it’s the perfect time to steady yourself — to find balance, breathe deeply, and reconnect with your body.

This is a steady practice with postures, breathwork, and meditation woven throughout, guided with care, verbal and hands-on assists (if you’d like them), and space to explore more deeply.

As a Senior Yoga Teacher with 15+ years’ experience, I’ll support you to find steadiness, strength, and calm, whether you’re new to yoga or building on your practice.

This month’s theme is finding space. Through breath and poses that use gentle compression, we practice releasing into expansion, creating space in the body and mind.

Even as the season speeds up, you can pause, breathe, and find space and stillness in the midst of it all 💜

Hello, I’m Bonnie 👋 Senior Yoga Teacher, teaching since 2013 here in Cornwall.

We’ve arrived in September. The tourists have gone, the town is a little quieter, and we can all ease into the rhythm of Autumn. Aaah… and breathe.

If you’re looking for something new to do for yourself now that the summer rush has passed, here’s an invitation to join one of my yoga classes here in Fowey.

They’re relaxed, non-competitive, and friendly — open to all levels, with plenty of options for stiff shoulders, creaky hips, and everything in between. There’s always an alternative to suit every-body 💜

✨ Creating space, even when life feels tight ✨

This week’s theme in class: finding space when life feels squeezed.

In yoga, some poses ask us to fold in, compress, and meet resistance. It can feel uncomfortable, just like those moments off the mat when life feels tight.

The practice is to pause, soften, and allow space to emerge. And sometimes, that space looks as simple as taking a break, a coffee, a chat, a moment to step back. When you return, things often don’t feel quite so tight.

That’s why we love not just moving together, but taking time after class to share coffee and connection too. 💛 You’re welcome to join us.

✨ What a week it’s been in Fowey! Regatta week brought sunshine, celebration, and that incredible fireworks finale 🎆 … they really did us proud. (This view from the Red Rocket Café wasn’t too shabby either 😍).

A deeply restorative Yin Yoga session to open the body, followed by the healing vibrations of a Gong Sound Bath to rebalance your nervous system. Leave feeling restored and reconnected.

A deeply restorative Yin Yoga practice, preparing your body to fully receive the powerful healing vibrations of the Gong Sound Bath led by Sue. This combination will gently open up tension in the body, soothe the nervous system, and bring you back into balance. These powerful vibrations can soothe the nervous system, rebalance the body, and bring a profound sense of harmony, supporting your return to homeostasis.

All of this takes place in the breathtaking setting of the Harbour Hotel, with stunning views over the Fowey Estuary.

A morning of breathwork, gentle yoga & deep relaxation. The session is designed for all levels, ending with a long guided relaxation (Yoga Nidra) to take you into deep rest, syncing your nervous system and leaving you feeling completely refreshed.

Then, the feast begins! Rachael’s beautifully curated grazing table will invite you to slow down, savour the moment, and enjoy the fruits of the practice (quite literally!).

🎃Halloween might be here… but this is proper scary! 🎃

Did you hear about the results of a recent decade-long study linking balance and longevity? It concluded that if you are not able to hold a balance position for just 10 seconds, you have an 84% increased risk of death. WTF!?💀

“After accounting for age, s*x and underlying conditions, an inability to hold the position for 10 seconds – given three attempts – was associated with an 84% heightened risk of death from any cause.” 😱

This speaks volumes about the importance of balance, especially as we age.

The study also pointed out that once you lose your balance, it’s a lot harder (not impossible) to get it back again 🤗
💡 “Whatever activity you choose—and whatever stage of life you’re at—the take-home lesson is to work on your balance before you need to, not after it becomes an issue.”

🍂This week, in line with autumn’s theme of grounding, my classes will focus on leg balance poses.

Practicing balance isn’t only about physical health but also about maintaining confidence, independence, and ease in daily life🧘‍♀️

Yoga’s balancing poses, like Tree Pose and Eagle Pose, are powerful for building stability and engaging those small, often-overlooked muscles that support coordination. Plus, 🌬️ controlled breathwork and focused attention in these poses improve proprioception—our body’s sense of position and movement.
