We do try to get to the services to welcome the new vicars in the area, and last night David went to St Brevita the Parish Church for Lanlivery. The Bishop of Truro, the Right Reverend David Williams, and the Archdeacon of Cornwall, the Venerable Clive Hogger installed and inducted the Reverend Simon Bone as Rector of the Lostwithiel Benefice which includes the parishes of Lostwithiel, St Winnow, St Veep, Boconnoc, Bradoc and Lanlivery. It was a lovely service where Fr Simon, gets taken around the Church, the font, the lectern, the altar, the door, and then rings the bells. Tradition has it that the number of rings on the bell indicates how long Fr Simon will stay. Fr Simon was then put in his stall, a special seat for the vicar. It was lovely to see the Church so full. For David it was very special as he has known Fr Simon for over 20 years. We wish Fr Simon all the best in his new ministry.
