Gen Mag Online Jan 2021

07/01/2021

The next edition of Gen Mag Online is about to be published in the next day or 2. Rather than publish a full magazine this time, I have published just a handful of articles for your enjoyment. New articles will be added to the magazine over the next 2 months.

Do you have an article you would like included in this edition of the magazine or a future edition? Just get in touch by email genmagonline@gmail.com.

To pique your interest the titles of the latest articles are:

Forgotten People in History- Zachariah Boreman
Bits & Pieces
Murder Most Foul - Tyburn Hill
Places in History - City of Chester
People in History - Sir Thomas Assheton

I'm currently working on the first edition of Gen Mag Online for 2021. Rather than publishing the magazine in one go as in the last issue I intend to publish it as and when new articles are added over a period of 2 months with the next issue after that being March 2021.

Do you have a subject you would like to write about? Just get in touch.

January 2021 edition of Gen Mag Online is currently being prepared.

This edition includes articles about the city of Chester; Tyburn Hill the main ex*****on centre of London until the 18th century; Henry VI's Lancashire alchemist, Sir Thomas de Assheton and an article about my 5 times great grandfather Zachariah Boreman whose work as a landscape ceramic painter during the late 18th and early 19th century has been forgotten but can still be seen in the Victorian & Albert Museum.

Do you use an iPhone or iPad? I have had Gen Mag Online tested on a few mobile devices and have been informed it opens OK on them.

I don't use either of these mobile devices. I use Windows and Android. When I use my Android phone or tablet the magazine is covered by a hand showing you to flip. There is also a large X in the right hand top corner.

If this is the same on an Apple mobile device, then click the X and it uncovers the magazine.

Hope this understandable. However if you prefer you can always open or download the PDF version of the magazine.

Currently there doesn't seem to be a way of Apple mobile users to download the flipbook to the device as the reader (and apparently all flipbook readers) don't seem to work. I have heard though that the software creator is working to resolve this issue to ensure all mobile phone and tablet users can benefit from this new technology.

After announcing that my website was up and running I realised later that it wasn't secure. As such I have now moved the website to a different and secure host. The domain address has changed very slightly.

In order to view the family history magazine you will need to visit the main site and click on the 'Magazine' tab in the navigation bar. Sorting out the web forward link direct to the magazine is proving troublesome

Also, I am aware that the magazine is not Mac user friendly. I am in the process of sorting this out so will inform you when it is.

The website is www.stevekellypublications.uk

Just to let you know if you use an iPhone to visit the web that at the moment my online magazine isn't Mac friendly at the moment. There is an app but at the moment I have figured out how to adapt this yet but hopefully, that won't be too long.

If you are like me an Android user could you check how it behaves on your Android devices. It tells you swipe but I think it is best to just click the X in the corner which then lets you open the magazine on your Android device.

If you would message me at my page at https://www.facebook.com/researchyourancestry/ and let me know it's OK I would be grateful.
