🎉 We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our brand-new home, Upland Manor Care Home!

Our team has worked tirelessly to create a bespoke, purpose-built luxury care home, perfectly situated in the heart of Northern Moor.

Recently, some of our lovely residents from Ashlands Manor Care Centre — Gwen, Ann, and Joyce — had the opportunity to visit and gave Upland Manor Care Home their seal of approval:

This cherished photo captures Margaret with her parents and five siblings, a lively household full of love and laughter.

Growing up as one of six children shaped Margaret’s childhood through the challenges of wartime and rationing, with family always at the heart of it. Later in life, she discovered that one of her sisters wasn’t her biological sibling... A revelation that only deepened her understanding of family and the bonds that truly matter. ✨

Yesterday was National Baking Day and some of our residents enjoyed decorating cupcakes 🧁 They were full of jam, cream and lots of sprinkles!

They looked so good and were enjoyed with a well-deserved cup of tea by everyone 🥰☕

Yesterday was a beautiful example of what life at our home is all about. A perfect blend of relaxation, learning, and getting our hands dirty!

The day started off with a relaxing wellness coffee morning, setting a peaceful and positive tone for everyone. This was followed by a fun and informative quiz all about Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, sparking some great conversation and a little friendly competition!

But the highlight of the afternoon was the very first gathering of our brand new “Blooming Beautiful” Gardening Club 🌿.

Residents got stuck into a truly heart-warming session of planting tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and more. We were planting smiles as well as bulbs! This preparation ensures we'll have a garden bursting with colourful and joyful life when Spring arrives.

We can’t wait to watch our garden transform in the months ahead, a big thank you to everyone who made yesterday so special!

Ted and his wife, married for 35 wonderful years, share a lifetime of memories — from travels across the globe to countless trips to their beloved Italy. On Friday, some of our lovely residents enjoyed our very first Myley trip, and what a fantastic outing it was. 🚌

We visited the incredible World of Glass museum in St. Helens, where we were treated to a fascinating glassblowing demonstration that left everyone amazed. The live display sparked wonderful memories and heartfelt conversations about days gone by, a truly nostalgic and moving experience.

A huge thank you to Andy, our brilliant driver, whose kindness and cheerful spirit added something truly special to the day. His support made the trip even more enjoyable and helped make it a day we won’t soon forget. 💫
