We’re delighted to welcome Sharon as our new Home Manager at Fairfax Manor!

Sharon brings with her a wealth of experience from both the NHS and Social Care sectors, having led a 100-bed care home in the local area to achieve a CQC Outstanding rating in three domains: well-led, caring, and responsive. She is passionate about creating a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment where residents can thrive and staff feel valued.

Outside of work, Sharon enjoys family life with her husband Paul, their two grown-up sons, and a lively household of pets - including a new puppy! 🐾

At Charlotte House Care Home, we've seen firsthand how these special four-legged visitors bring pure joy to our residents. But it's more than just fun, pet therapy is a powerful way to reduce loneliness, ease anxiety, and simply lift spirits.

For us, it's the little moments of joy, a wagging tail, a gentle cuddle, a shared smile, that mean the most. We're proud to bring these experiences to our residents because their happiness and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.

Fun Time Friday at Waterside! 🥳

We had a full house for our Happiness Program and enjoyed lots of games throughout the day. Horse racing was a big hit, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.

In the afternoon, it was Fun Time Friday with Tony, and even more residents joined in, making it an extra special day.

Paula believes a care home should feel exactly like it sounds: a home. That’s why, when someone asks about visiting hours, she doesn’t give a time slot; she simply says, “What time would you usually see them? You can see them whenever you want. Yes, we care for people here, but this is, more importantly, a home.”💙

She’s all about creating a place where residents, families, and staff feel truly welcome and where every day is filled with warmth, laughter, and love. We’re so excited to have Paula joining the Waterside family!
