🔹 Know Your Limits: Always swim in areas designated for swimming and within your skill level. Don't venture into deep or fast-moving water if you're not confident in your swimming abilities.

🔹 Supervise Children Closely: Never leave children unattended near water. Even a small amount of water can pose a significant risk.

🔹 Learn to Swim: Enroll yourself and your loved ones in swimming lessons. Knowing how to swim can save lives.

🔹 Check the Water Conditions: Before entering any body of water, be aware of the current conditions. Look out for strong currents, waves, and underwater hazards.

🔹 Avoid Alcohol: Alcohol impairs judgment and coordination, increasing the risk of accidents. Stay sober when participating in water activities.

All of us at Ubique Training Academy are commemorating D-Day, honouring the courage and sacrifice of those involved.

On this solemn occasion, we gather to remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women who, eighty years ago, embarked on a mission that would change the course of history. Their unwavering determination, sacrifice, and courage echo through time, reminding us of the profound debt we owe to that great wartime generation.

Field Marshal Montgomery’s words on the eve of D-Day resonate even today: “To us is given the honour of striking a blow for freedom which will live in history, and in the better days that lie ahead, men will speak with pride of our doings.”

Nearly one hundred and sixty thousand soldiers stood along those shores, embarking on the greatest amphibious operation ever recorded. They faced uncertainty, fear, and mortal danger, yet they pressed forward with resolve.

As we reflect on that fateful day, let us also remember the countless lives lost; the soldiers lying on the beaches, the aircrew flying overhead, and the sailors manning warships (notwithstanding those supporting the effort from the homeland) were all part of an immense effort to replace tyranny with freedom. Their sacrifice reverberates through generations, a timeless symbol of unity, peace, and the pursuit of liberty.

Today, we honour their service, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Let us ensure their stories live on, inspiring us to build a world where courage prevails and freedom thrives.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning; We will remember them!
