Due to the Easter Break the M.A.T.CH sessions at St Helens Family Hubs have changed. To ensure we do not clash with these sessions and to continue with having sessions available to Dads every week we will be moving our walk and talk sessions. This means there will be no walk and talk this week. It will now take place 25th April and will be every 2 weeks from there.

This weeks M.A.T.CH session will be at Newton Family Hub.

Our next Dads walk and walk will be next Saturday at 10am. These walks are making a real difference to some of the dads that attend. From a simple adult conversation to dads that have had a particularly hard week. We have an indoor space with toys, tea and coffee and buscuits.

This afternoon I'll be in Whiston Hospital Maternity & Neonatal Unit.

We all have visions of going to the hospital with our partners and coming home the next day with our partner and our baby. Sometimes this process takes a little longer. Babies can need a little help in the early days and if its your first experience of Special Care Baby Unit this can be very daunting.

Everyone's experience of SCBU is unique to them. But it is often a stressful experience for both parents. This is why we visit. Supporting families where and when they need that support the most.

Taking the time to sit with Parents. Listen to them and often share my own experience can make a big difference. We are very privileged to be in a position where parents allow us to share a small part of this journey with them.

If you know anyone in this position. Remember to ask both parents how they're doing.
