After 32 years in health and social care, I can honestly say — I’ve seen it all.

The good days.
The difficult days.
And the moments that stay with you forever.

There have been times I’ve felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and even questioned whether I could keep going.

But I never walked away.

Because at the heart of it… this job really matters.

It’s the people we support.
The trust they place in us.
The small moments that mean everything to them — even if they seem small to others.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s this:
👉 People remember how you made them feel.

Not the tasks.
Not the routine.
But the kindness, patience, and time you gave them.

I know what it feels like to be out there on the front line — the pressure, the long days, the emotional side of this role.

That’s why I care so much about building a team that feels supported, understood, and valued.

Today we celebrate the women who hold the world together with love.

Mums, grandmothers, step-mums, and the incredible mother figures who guide us, comfort us and stand beside us through every stage of life.

At NFC Health & Social Care, we see something very special every single day. We see the power of care, patience and kindness — the same qualities that make someone an amazing mum.

Many of the wonderful carers in our team are mums themselves. They finish the school run, look after their families, and then go out into the community to care for someone else’s mum, dad, nan or grandad as if they were their own.

That takes a very special kind of person. 💛

Today we also celebrate the incredible mothers and grandmothers we support. Women who have spent their lives caring for others, building families, creating memories and shaping generations. It is a privilege to support you and be part of your story.

And for those who are missing their mum today, please know that the love they gave you never fades. It lives on in everything you do.

Today we’re celebrating the incredible women who make the world go round — and especially the amazing women here at NFC Health & Social Care.

Care isn’t an easy job. It takes patience, kindness, strength, a sense of humour and a massive heart… and our team have all of that in bucket loads. Day in, day out they’re out in the community supporting people, making someone’s day a little brighter and making a real difference where it matters most.

From the carers out on the road to the office team keeping everything running (sometimes with a brew in one hand and a phone in the other! ☕📞) — you are all absolute superstars.

I’m incredibly proud to work alongside such strong, compassionate women who genuinely care about the people they support.
