✨TMJ MOBILISATION MASSAGE✨
If you have been diagnosed with TMJ disorder by your doctor or dentist or you believe that your symptoms might be muscular- this treatment employs a range of techniques that can help to ease your pain. The TMJ joint connects the lower jaw to the skull. Disorders of the joint are associated with jaw and face pain.
Symptoms can include-
* Jaw and face pain/tenderness
* Dull aching pain surrounding the jaw/cheek/ear/neck
* Headaches/migraines
* Difficulty moving your jaw when speaking or chewing
* A feeling of ‘lock jaw’ when opening the mouth.
* Difficulty opening mouth wide or closing it easily.
* Popping, grating, clicking sounds when moving your jaw
* Ear pain, tinnitus
* Bruxism (teeth grinding)
This treatment combines a range of advanced techniques including-
* Palpation
* ROM Testing (range of motion)
* Manual Massage of specific Muscles
* Joint Mobilisations
* Intraoral Joint Mobilisations
* Intraoral Mandibular Mobilisations
* Active Jaw Movements
*Massage to the surrounding anatomy- (neck, face, back)
* Home Care Exercises/Advice
This treatment is not intended to replace medical intervention/advice. However, an holistic approach combining home care, medical care and TMJ Massage can help to ease associated symptoms. Parts of this massage can be tender, in order to work on the Masseter Muscle - intraoral work (inside of the mouth) is required, surgical gloves and face
mask will be worn. However, other parts of this treatment can be very relaxing with the feeling of ‘relief’ especially around the neck, shoulders and head.
Initial consultation includes full range of ROM and relevant muscular testing as well as hands on therapy
£50- 80 minutes.
Thereafter, manual therapy and relevant testing-
£37 - 45 minutes manual therapy
£43 - 60 minutes therapy
