Exciting news from The Nerve Injury Clinic! 🌟

Claire D recently conducted a virtual teaching session for Case Management company Unite Professionals.

As longtime partners, NIC has been providing specialised neurological physiotherapy as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) with UP for many years.

During the session, Claire covered various types of peripheral nerve injuries, including combined presentations such as head injury, fractures, and nerve injury.

Physiotherapy and the range of services that NIC offers were also discussed.

We're proud to continue sharing our expertise and collaborating with UP to enhance patient care!

Exciting news from The Nerve Injury Clinic!

Our new exercise class kicked off in mid-February with incredible enthusiasm. Led by Kellie, the group focuses on enhancing flexibility, strength, and balance for patients facing movement difficulties. Join us every Tuesday from 12-12:45 for a transformative session. The feedback has been phenomenal already!

One attendee shared, "Kellie is a gem! Lovely personality and related really well with care and empathy to all those attending. In my opinion, level was spot on given the variety of needs she was trying to cater for. Tiring but that's the point!"

We were delighted to attend a fascinating Q&A session with the inspirational Dr Ilan Lieberman, a consultant in pain medicine in Manchester. It was great to update ourselves on medical cannabis use in neurological conditions, pregabalin/gabapentin use, NICE Guidelines for Chronic Pain, trigeminal neuralgia and pudendal neuralgia.

Claire recently attended a Safeguarding Course, run by Jenni Seymour from Amber Case Management and took place at Summerseat Physiotherapy.

Safeguarding is not only a statutory obligation and our duty to protect patients from all forms of abuse, harm and/or neglect which overrides any duty of confidentiality, but is absolutely reflective of our commitment to help and protect all our patients.

Our very own Katy took part in a Vestibular Rehab Course recently. This photos shows her practising the Epley manoeuvre to diagnose and treat Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo, a common disorder of the inner ear which can cause brief episodes of dizziness or vertigo when the head is moved in certain positions.
