🥕🧁 When life gives you carrots… you make cake! 🧁🥕

Earlier this week we got busy in the kitchen whipping up some delicious carrot cake cupcakes for our residents — mixing, baking, licking the spoons (purely for quality control, of course 😉)

5he smell of warm spices filling the home was divine!… and best of all? We made the cake AND ate it too! 😄✨

A lovely afternoon! This is what we’d call that a recipe for happiness! 💛🍰

💛 Update for Our Wonderful Families 💛

Sadly, our home is still in outbreak, but we wanted to keep you fully informed and looking ahead with hope 🌈

✨ All being well, and if we have no further cases, we are currently aiming for next Thursday to be our release day 🎉🤞

To help us get there, we are kindly asking for everyone’s support 🙏💪
🧼 Please continue to be extra vigilant with handwashing
😷 Masks must be worn at all times while in the home — including bedrooms

These small but powerful actions really do make a huge difference 💥 Together, we can kick this bug out once and for all 🚫🦠

We know it’s been a long road, but we are so determined to get our home back to the happy, vibrant, buzzing place we all love 💖🏡✨

Families couldn’t stop raving about the wonderful Christmas meal experience, and it’s no surprise — Paul pours so much care, passion, and heart into everything he does ❤️🍽️ From creating unforgettable special occasions to always welcoming residents’ requests and suggestions, he truly goes above and beyond every single day.

And let’s not forget those cheeky little favour requests 😉👀 from someone who definitely shall not be named (but may or may not run the page… 😂).

Thank you, Paul, for your dedication, warmth, and the joy you bring to our residents and their families. We are so grateful to have you — congratulations on being a true GEM! 🌟🙌🍰

🌟 A lovely opportunity we wanted to share 🌟

We’ve been kindly informed by Age UK and The Lowry about a dementia-friendly theatre performance coming up this March, and we thought it was far too lovely not to pass on to our community.

🎭 Eric & Ern – a special dementia-friendly show celebrating the much-loved humour of Morecambe and Wise – has been thoughtfully adapted to be welcoming, relaxed and enjoyable for people living with dementia, alongside their families and friends.

🗓 Wednesday 25 March 2026
⏰ 1.30–2.30pm (60 minutes, no interval)
🎟 £20 tickets (free companion ticket)
📍 The Lowry, Salford

There’s also the option to visit the LS Lowry Galleries afterwards, making it a really special afternoon out together.

We know how meaningful experiences like this can be, so we simply wanted to share the information in case any of our residents’ friends, families, or members of the wider community would like to attend 💙

💙 Visitor Update – Oakfield Croft Care Home 🏡

The health and wellbeing of our residents is always our highest priority. At present, we are taking some extra precautions in line with Infection Control guidance due to a small number of cold and flu cases within the home.

Visiting is still very welcome, and we truly value the important connections our residents share with family and friends. To help keep everyone safe, visits are currently limited to one visitor per resident at a time, and we kindly ask that face masks are worn throughout your visit 😷 (these will be available on arrival if needed).

If you’re feeling unwell or experiencing any cold or flu symptoms 🤧, we gently ask that you postpone your visit until you’re feeling better, to help protect our residents and staff.

These measures are temporary and taken with care and consideration for everyone in our Oakfield Croft family. Thank you so much for your continued kindness, understanding, and support 🤝💙

✨🪄 Magic was definitely in the air yesterday! 🪄✨

We were absolutely wowed by our awesome magician friend Chris Manucal Magic , who popped in to treat us to some truly sneaky sleight of hand yesterday. Cards disappeared, objects appeared, and minds were well and truly blown! 🤯

There were plenty of gasps, laughs, and very serious attempts to work out how on earth he was doing it (spoiler alert: we’re still none the wiser!). It was amazing, mysterious, and great fun from start to finish.

A huge thank you, Chris and his lovely assistant (boss 😉) Sarah from Starboard Hotels for bringing so much joy, laughter, and magic to our home. This was a part of their "Shape Gives Back" initiative and they kindly did this show for free for us — our residents loved every minute and are still talking about it! We hope to see you again very soon… though we’ll be keeping an eye on our watches and wallets just in case 😉🃏

Yesterday we were treated to the most beautiful piano performance ✨🎹

Our lovely pianist filled the room with stunning classical music and familiar melodies, creating such a calm, relaxing atmosphere for everyone. It was truly a joy to sit back, listen, and soak it all in 🎶💛 Thank you for such a peaceful and wonderful afternoon.
