🦆 It’s National Rubber Ducky Day! 🦆
And in Early Years, we know just how much learning can come from the simplest resources.

Let us reintroduce Doris Duck — bath-time superfan, professional floater, and a familiar face in Moo Music sessions alongside Maggie Moo.

Legend has it that Doris once tried to count how many rubber ducks were in the bathroom…
But one squeaked unexpectedly, another disappeared under a bubble mountain, and one reappeared somewhere it definitely wasn’t a moment ago 🫧🛁
The counting has never been completed.

Sound familiar?

Those everyday bath-time favourites aren’t just cute — they support sensory exploration, early maths language, communication, and emotional wellbeing. They invite curiosity, imaginative play and shared moments of connection — all things we value so highly in Early Years practice.

At Moo Music, we use familiar, everyday experiences (like bath-time) as a starting point for learning. We even have a song called “Bathtime”, which supports:

🐄 So… who is Moo Music for in Early Years settings? 🐄
(Short answer: probably you.)

Moo Music sessions are designed to support children across the Early Years age range, working flexibly with how nurseries are actually structured — from baby rooms through to preschool, and including Reception classes. We adapt sessions to suit the age, stage and needs of each room, rather than rigid age brackets.

Our sessions can be tailored for:

🌱 Baby rooms — from birth through to confident walkers (often up to around 16–18 months)
🍼 Waddlers — typically from around 15 months to 2 years
🚶 Toddlers — often from 18 months up to around 2.5 years
🎶 Preschool — generally from around 3 years

Hi👋 I’m Karen, and I run Moo Music Trafford 🐄

For the past four years, I’ve been delivering music, movement and sensory sessions to Early Years settings, and I absolutely love working alongside practitioners to bring something a little bit different (and a lot of fun!) into the nursery day.

Our sessions are udderly unique, combining original music, creative activities and plenty of enthusiasm to engage children while supporting learning and development.

We’re experienced in working across the full Early Years age range — from baby rooms and waddlers, through toddlers and preschool, right up to school Reception classes — with sessions always adapted to suit the age, stage and needs of each group.

After just one term, staff reported improved turn-taking and listening skills. After three terms languages skills were notably improved (did someone say bubbles?).

Fast forward 18 months, some of our Moo Music activities have been incorporated into daily life for our little Moo'vers, showing just how loved our sessions are by staff and children alike.
