Keeping up with The Amberley 30/04/26.
Today, in celebration of International Jazz Day, we enjoyed a thoughtfully planned programme of activities that embraced both wellbeing and the arts.
The morning began with a gentle session of armchair exercises, designed to promote mobility, circulation and overall physical wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment. Residents engaged enthusiastically, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
In the afternoon, the atmosphere shifted to one of relaxation and cultural appreciation as residents immersed themselves in the rich sounds of jazz music. Individuals were given the choice to enjoy the experience in different settings according to their preference. Some gathered in the Blue Lounge, where the ambience created an intimate listening space, while others opted to sit in the garden, making the most of the fresh air and pleasant surroundings as the music played.
The day concluded on a warm and sociable note, with residents coming together to enjoy a glass of wine. This provided an opportunity for meaningful conversation, as discussions naturally flowed around jazz music, dance, and theatre production. Residents shared memories, personal interests, and reflections, creating a sense of connection and shared enjoyment.
Overall, the day was a wonderful blend of physical activity, musical appreciation, and social engagement, celebrating both International Jazz Day and the vibrant interests of our residents.
