April means it’s nettle season 😃. Nettles are a nutritional powerhouse, giving you a boost of iron, vitamins A, C and K, as well as magnesium and calcium!

Great for the liver, for reducing inflammation, and they act as a natural antihistamine too. If you’re prone to hay fever why not give them a try?

And I think they make a pretty delicious soup too!

This was a bag of nettle tops (just the first couple of inches so you don’t get the lower woody stalks), an onion, a potato (or you could use swede if you’re avoiding nightshades), a few cloves of garlic, stock, and a massive squeeze of lemon juice. Yum 😋

I snapped this picture of the full moon yesterday evening on my way to class - this full moon was called the ‘Worm Moon’, signalling spring and the emerging of the worms as the soil warms up.
I only noticed when I looked back at the photo all the colours around the moon, I’m not sure what they were?
I hope you got chance to look up at the moon last night 🌑 ❤️

Our wonderful dad turned 90 last Thursday. I love this picture of him in headstand at age 78! Sadly he didn’t return to Yoga after classes stopped during lockdowns, but he still keeps active walking down the river.
He has always been such an appreciative man, finding joy in nature and chats, the important things - I’m sure that’s what has kept him healthy until this fantastic age.
Happy birthday to our Papa, we love you and are inspired by you in equal measure ❤️

I’m honouring Imbolc with a candle ritual this evening. Imbolc is the pause between winter and spring. These pauses in the wheel of the year give us an opportunity to reflect on what has been, and make space for new growth. Imbolc focusses on getting rid of stagnant winter energy, and bringing fresh energy in. While we tend to make New Year’s resolutions, January is still mid winter where our energy is naturally slower, and it can feel really difficult to stick to changes. Imbolc feels a much more natural time to me to start coming out of hibernation.
It’s a great time to spring clean - cleaning the house and preparing your home and your mind for the year.
What do you want to let go of this Imbolc and what do you wish to bring in?

You can do a very simple Imbolc meditation by lighting a white candle and reflecting on this question.
