VoiceBox Inc. begun in 2013, when Amanda Clayson an educational consultant devised a tool called the Voice Box to encourage vulnerable pupils to talk openly about their experiences and hopes and dreams. They were invited into a safe space with no other adults or children and were presented with a box, which asked them various probing questions. Previously silent children, opened up to the Voice Box, which allowed a video to be created to improve practice for adults working with the children and was also viewed by the children as a piece to be proud of and to showcase their qualities. Since its inception, the Voice Box has been used across a whole range of public and private sector organisations for a whole range of purposes, such as addiction recovery services, offender groups and mental health services; to name a few! Of late, we have also moved beyond the structured Voice Box tool and are commissioned by other organisations to create electronic press kits, which can comprise videos, voice recordings or photographs and beyond of service users, which again, can be used for individual and organisational impact, in the form of evaluation or research. is passionate, committed and innovative. Making a difference and positive change are at the heart of what we do. We have a wide range of connections and stakeholders across the Greater Manchester area, inspiring us to discover our next project.
