International Nurses Day 🩵

Six months ago, our community came together for a very special evening at our Gala Dinner. 🥂

Together, we raised an incredible £6,636.96 in support of Admiral Nurses in our community.

On International Nurses Day, it feels especially important to recognise the difference that support continues to make.

Admiral Nurses provide specialist guidance, reassurance and understanding to families living with dementia, often during some of the most challenging times.

Since that evening, the support raised has helped make a real difference to families here in our Salford community.

We would like to say a huge well done to our Care Professional, Jackie Barritt, for truly going above and beyond for her client.

When her client sadly lost her vision and required urgent support, Jackie immediately stayed beyond her scheduled availability to ensure she was safe, reassured, and not alone during a very distressing time. She supported her client by accompanying her to hospital, stayed with her the entire time, and later brought her home, making sure she was comfortable and settled.

Jackie’s compassion, dedication, and calm response in a difficult situation reflect the very best of what outstanding care looks like.

Thank you, Jackie—you made a real difference when it mattered most. 🌟💚

Where it all started. 🎬🎥

Susan’s journey began when she couldn’t find the right care for her own mum.

She knew what good care should look like, but there wasn’t a Home Instead in the right postcode.

So she created one. 🤲🏼

Eight consecutive Outstanding years later, that same passion is still at the heart of everything we do.

Last week, we spent the day capturing real moments across Home Instead Salford. 🎥📷

From time out in the community to everyday visits, it was a chance to reflect what a typical day looks like for our team, with a camera following along behind the scenes.

We’ve recently been working with Clare and the team at The Circle Marketing , who understand care inside and out.

Their background in the sector, and their thoughtful, respectful approach, meant everything was handled with real sensitivity, especially when working with our clients.

It was a lovely day, and we’re really looking forward to sharing the final images with you soon.

Not all heroes wear capes. 🦸

Sometimes they’re the ones who know exactly how you take your tea. 🫖

Who can find the glasses that have been “lost” all morning. 👓

Who bring a sense of calm, comfort and companionship into someone’s day.

Who sometimes suggest a trip out for fresh air and exercise. 🌼

Our Care Professionals do all of this and so much more.

And it’s not just our Care Professionals.

Talking to a loved one about care isn’t always easy.

It can feel like a difficult conversation to start, and one that’s often put off for as long as possible.
But having those conversations early can make a real difference. 🕰️

It gives everyone the chance to feel heard, understood and involved in the decisions that matter most.
It’s not about taking independence away.

It’s about planning ahead and making sure the right support is in place at the right time. 💚🤍

If you’re not sure where to start, you’re not alone.

We host our Care Compass Circle, a relaxed and informal space to talk through care options, ask questions and start thinking about next steps.

Our next session will take place on Tuesday 2nd June at Swinton Gateway, where we’ll be joined by a solicitor to talk through Lasting Power of Attorney and what to consider when planning ahead.

No pressure. Just helpful advice and a chance to ask the questions that matter to you.

The team recently took part in St John's Ambulance choking training, and it was a really informative and valuable session.

We learned important life-saving techniques and refreshed our knowledge to help us respond confidently in emergency situations.

The team really enjoyed the learning experience and found it both engaging and beneficial for our ongoing development.
