👻CLAY GHOSTS👻 Children at our holiday and food club at our Replay Sustainability studio have continued to impress us with their creativity and resilience. Here are some clay creations which we made last week!

Our last summer creativity session at rock street community garden is upon us. Wow that’s gone fast.

Mondays session is flower pounding ✨ 🌷 where we mix fabric with the natural dye of plants by hammering to create beautiful patterns and colours.

🌺🌼🪻HAF SUMMER FLOWERS FUN🪻🌼🌺 On Monday in our scrap studio we used flowers that were no longer sellable - donated kindly from Roses and Poses in Swinton (big thanks)! The children at our holiday club had a go at flower pounding and then made vases and floral arrangements to take home, all with flowers that were destined for the bin! We love inspiring the future generations to think about how they can creatively use items!

💧☔️RAINY CLAY☔️💧Thanks to all the families who came down to Rock Street Community Garden to play with Clay in the rain! Thumbs up to and for sharing their knowledge of the squishy stuff 👍🏻 and bravo to the kids who stayed for the game of the floor is lava led by everyone was absolutely soaked but with huge smiles!

Drop-in creative nature session for families
 Paint. Pound. Weave. Explore.
 2–5 PM, (not sure why the poster thing says different!) Saturday 2nd August, Green Island Festival, Hulme Garden Centre

Step into a world of wild colour and natural creativity! Join us for a hands-on, family-friendly craft session inspired by the textures, colours and treasures of the garden.
Children can explore, play and make using natural and reused materials. With a mix of gentle, creative stations to dip in and out of, Wild Colours is designed to engage imaginations, spark joy and connect kids to the magic of the outdoors.

🌈 Activities include:

* 🌼 Colour Hunt Egg Boxes – match nature to the rainbow in a playful scavenger hunt 
* 🖌 Painted Bark & Stick Totems – decorate natural materials using bold colours and patterns 
* 🌿 Journey Sticks – wrap and weave your nature story into a stick to take home 
* 💥 Flower Pounding – (supervised) create vibrant prints by hammering petals into fabric

🗓Monday 28th July - Drop in sessions between 10am and 2pm
✨ Bring your little ones into our Rock Street 🗓 Garden space to create their own creatures from scrap wood. Imagining, planning, and crafting together brings families closer. All materials provided! 🦋🔵🐬🥏🩵BLUE CHAOS🩵 🥶🧞‍♂️🧢📘🪣Art and creativity doesn’t have to be controlled or planned. I have no idea how to officially ‘do embroidery’ but I had so much fun creating this blue piece. From collecting the objects to finding different shades of blue thread, i enjoyed every minute of it. Creativity isn’t about the outcome, it’s the process we each go through to express ourselves. The weirder the better for me!

🪏VOLUNTEER DAY🪏 Today we welcomed lots of volunteers from Onward Housing who came to help us deweed some of the alleyways around Rock Street for our Between us Project, funded by . Wow… they worked their butts off, we had a serious amount of weeds to get rid off and we covered quite a few alleys in a couple of hours. It just goes to show what a few people working hard and on purpose can do! Thanks to all who lent a hand today, we are making a difference! ❤️ also thanks to for putting together a mud kitchen for the children if one of the residents… so cute (see it in our stories)

🌸🪴Pretties from today🪴🌸
Today’s theme was flowers for our Neurodiversity in the Studio session. We had lots of beautiful creations, some people used the sewing machine, some used paint and others gave embroidery a whirl. Lovely chat with gorgeous people ❤️❤️❤️ 🌶

🪏🪴🫜ROCK STREET🫜🪴🪏Another beautiful corner of our community project at Rock Street in Broughton. The kids zone is starting to take shape, lots more additions to come next week including a bug hotel! Thanks to all who joined us and got their hands dirty today. Banging bench made by and . Thankyou and for continuing to come up with interesting and creative ways to get stuff done! Also nice to see come and spend some time at the community garden on her 40th birthday🎂
