- what a lovely support group.

The Salisbury Shakers meet once per month is one of just 5 support groups in the country for those with an essential tremor - coming from all around.

We were delighted to be invited along and we discussed so many ways physiotherapy can help and shared lots of very welcome practical solutions.

We chatted about many aspects specific to this group’s needs including; core stability & strengthening, upper limb & hand function, activities in the kitchen & home, joint protection strategies, hand therapy, exercises for strength & conditioning, management of fatigue, safe balance activities, falls prevention, techniques on stairs, walking, walking aids, mgt of common musculoskeletal conditions, flexibility, getting on and off the floor, managing a long lie, crossing roads etc. And so much more about maintenance of health and prevention of injury.

It was so incredibly sad to hear that access to meaningful physiotherapy is limited and to hear that in these persons experiences - that GPs advise that physiotherapy cannot help 😒.

Really looking forward to attending the monthly get together of the today.

is very common especially in the older population so effective physiotherapy management is key.

And just like other diagnoses & conditions - sufferers can still have common musculoskeletal disorders and it’s so important that these don’t get brushed off as β€œpart of your condition.”

This has come about because of our regular mornings on the 4th Friday of the month - a great way to spread awareness of what we do as 10 therapists operating in clinic and at home & in care settings.

See you soon πŸ‘‹πŸ».

It's this Friday, 11am - 1pm!!! πŸ’•

Where has the month gone?! In March we launched and it went so well - we chatted to lots of new people and to some previous clients about wrists, thumbs, hips, backs, mobility, walking aids and more...

It's not an individual assessment. It's not a booked appointment. It's an opportunity to come and chat to us informally.

Do come say Hi - we would love to see you and we expect to have Vicky, Emma, Marie, Dulcie & Annabelle in attendance. πŸ₯°
