When life is heavy its useful to have a few things in mind that you can do that you know are guaranteed to lift your mood. If you already have these things in mind it means you can instantly reach for them when you can't even begin to think about how you might make yourself feel better.

Every person will have something different in their toolbox, it really is whatever works for you. 😁

7 simple ways to increase Serotonin that you can include in your every day life.

1. Exercise! I am sure this one doesn't come as a surprise but regular exercise will help to increase your serotonin levels. This doesn't mean you have to start running marathons, a gentle walk more than does the job. 🚢

2. Healthy balanced diet! Did you know that the majority of serotonin in our body is stored in our gut. πŸ‡

3. Massage! This is the perfect excuse to get yourself booked in for a good massage. A massage will help to increase serotonin and dopamine and reduce cortisol levels (the stress hormone) πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ

4. Sleep! We all know how rubbish we can feel when we have a bad nights sleep and how everything can feel so much more overwhelming. Not too much and not too little sleep is just right. 😴

5. Socialise! Spending time with loved ones has shown an increase in serotonin levels. Spending time with animals has also shown an improvement, so if people aren't your thing, hug an animal instead. 🐱

6. Light! I know we aren't in the best season for lots of light but even spending just 10 to 15 minutes outside each day has shown an increase in serotonin levels. 🌞

7. Mood Induction! A good mood helps to increase serotonin levels, so even thinking about something or someone that makes you happy can start to increase serotonin levels. It isn't always that easy to do of course but trying to direct your thoughts to a more positive place is a really good way to start. 🧠

After a lot of thought, I have decided to move my therapy online. A lot of research went into online therapy through covid and it proved to work just as well as face to face.

I appreciate, at the moment, everyone is having to think very carefully about what they are spending their money on, so I wanted to find a way that I could lower my costs so people didn't have to let their mental health suffer. πŸ˜ƒ

New prices are as follows:

πŸ’«Ongoing therapy (anxiety, stress, low mood, confidence etc.) - Β£35 per session

β˜€Fears and Phobias therapy (3 sessions) - Β£100 for the course

🚭Stop smoking therapy (1 session lasting approximately 4 hours) - £120 for the session
