Today we took part in day to raise money for Breast Cancer Now and raise awareness of the symptoms of breast cancer.

Flu Vaccinations

We have flu clinics available across weekdays in October and November - and we still have some availability tomorrow morning for flu vaccines for eligible patients aged over 18.

Please contact the practice to book. We have now invited all eligible patients - if you would like to decline the flu vaccine please let us know by replying to the text message invite, by email (bswicb.smp@nhs.net) or by telephone.

Covid Vaccination Clinic - Saturday 21st October💉

We have just added appointments for covid booster vaccinations on Saturday morning - this clinic is open to anyone eligible for the vaccine (not just our registered patients). The entrance to the clinic is next to Tanday Pharmacy. There is limited parking available - disabled patients please use our front car park.

Since introducing our non-urgent online system, Accurx Triage, we have dealt with over 6000 requests since the launch at the start of September!

A few key points to remember:

☑️ This is accessible via our website: www.salisburymedicalpractice.co.uk
☑️ You do not need to log into or create an account to submit a request
☑️ This system is for non-urgent GP requests - if you need urgent, same day care or Nurse appointments you must call the surgery.
☑️ Please do not submit multiple requests for the same problem as this causes confusion and leads to errors when booking appointments
☑️ Please do not submit several issues on the same request form - GP appointments are time limited so can only be used for one problem at a time.
☑️ If you need to cancel an appointment, please call the surgery and select the cancellation option to leave us a voicemail (no need to wait on the line!)

Thank you to all our patients for supporting us in our first week of our new non-urgent online request system, Accurx Triage. This is accessible via the home page of our website: www.salisburymedicalpractice.co.uk

We have had a fantastic response to this new system - we dealt with over 1000 requests in the first three days!

This system is for routine (non-urgent) requests only. A GP and Care Navigator will action the request within 2 working days and either offer advice/signposting or an option to book a telephone or face to face appointment within 3-10 working days.

Please continue to call the practice for urgent issues, Nurse/Pharmacist appointments and home visits.

We are unable to deal with medication requests via this system, please continue to request prescriptions in your usual way (via SystmOnline/NHS App, email or dropping off in person).

Autumn Covid-19 Booster Vaccinations💉

Text message invites will be sent to all patients eligible for the Autumn covid booster vaccination, containing a URL link to book this online. These clinics will be held on weekdays and Saturdays at Fisherton House, starting on Monday 11th September. Please wait to be contacted. If you have any queries or are unable to use the link, please email bswicb.smp@nhs.net to book.

Due to the Government bringing the start date of covid vaccinations forward by a month, we will be unable to administer flu and covid vaccinations at the same appointment, these will need to be booked separately. To book in your flu vaccination, please email bswicb.smp@nhs.net.

From Monday 4th September, you will be able to submit all routine (non-urgent) requests for the GP using our new online system called Accurx Triage. Please see more information below or on our website: www.salisburymedicalpractice.co.uk

We have introduced this new system in line with the new NHS guidance. It means patients are getting the advice they need at the right time from the right person the first time they contact the surgery – this may be a GP or another member of our practice team.

This system should make it easier to submit requests to the practice and improve access for routine GP care – it avoids the need to wait on the telephones or call multiple times a day. We also hope it will reduce the wait on the telephones for patients calling for urgent needs.

We have been listening to feedback and hope this will improve patient experience when accessing the practice. We have worked with our Patient Participation Group to gain feedback on the new system and we would value your feedback once this system is live from Monday.

The way to access our routine GP care is soon going to change in line with new NHS England guidance.

We will be introducing an online request system from the start of September. This will allow patients to submit routine, non-urgent requests for the GP via a link on our website instead of calling the practice. For patients who cannot access the internet, our Patient Contact Advisors will still be available via telephone or face to face to submit a request on your behalf.

These are currently flu vaccination clinics only. We will be offering covid vaccinations from October and it is likely that our October clinics will offer both flu and covid vaccinations together.

Children's flu clinics will start in September, our delivery dates are yet to be confirmed. Text messages with online bookable links will be sent to parents once clinic dates are confirmed.

Contact your GP practice if you are experiencing any of these signs and symptoms of lung cancer.
