Tis the season for apples !
Apples are such amazing healing foods and so simple to add into our daily diets .
They grow abundantly in the UK especially after the hot summer time. October market stalls and supermarket shelves are full of the many local varieties. I particularly delight in the varieties that have pink flesh such a joy to cut open and discover the deep pink colours , also a russet apple for its earthy flavour .
When I was young there was an adage “ an apple a day keeps the doctor away” All these many moons on and it is still 100% relevant.
Apples are packed with antioxidants and rich in flavonoids.
All of which offer our bodies digestive benefits, immunity wellbeing benefits, and great for the cell health of the body.
Added to this I often suggest to clients to add apples into their daily diet for liver, digestive and lung support.
Apples are a mineral and vitamin boost .
Apples are packed with pectin and malic acid offering assistance with soothing and vitalising the digestive system.
As well as eating apples raw, cooking apples by stewing and baking have many benefits . We can add spices while cooking such as cinnamon, cardamom , ginger which increase the warming properties . Warming foods are often of assistance with supporting the body’s immunity at this time of the year and digestive wellbeing . At this time of the year it’s great to keep some stewed apple in the fridge to be used at meal times.
Enjoy this season of apple abundance and variety. Such a simple and easy way to nourish your body with healing properties of well-being .

Healing fruits, herbal infusions and foods of Autumn time.
I delight in Autumn time.
The cool breeze touching my skin.
The rays of sunlight spontaneously appearing.
The amazingly rich colours of the leaves and the hedgerow fruits.
Lighting candles in the evening.
The movement of energy to be quieter, delighting in another form of warmth than the summer sunshine. A quiet, tender, cosy warmth of Autumn.

Hawthorn Berries, Rose Hips, Elderberries, Apples, Plums.
Healing spices for autumn time.
Cinnamon, Turmeric, Ginger, Paprika, Star Anise.
Warming autumn herbal infusion. Great support for the immune and circulatory system.
Elderberries, Rose Hips, Nettle leaf, lemon Verbena.
Warming autumn stewed fruits great for digestive wellbeing.
Stewed apples with Cinnamon.
Stewed plums with Star Anise.
Warming autumn baked vegetables .
Squash baked in the oven with Turmeric.
Carrots baked with Cinnamon.
Aubergine and red peepers baked with smoked paprika.
Following on from the previous post, Passiflora and Rose Petal Infusion.
Plants, prayers, consciousness are all one. Just as we are.
While sipping Passiflora and Rose petal infusion sometimes I find offering a prayer in some way connected with meeting any old memories and thoughts of the past that have a felt sense of vulnerability or uncomfortableness or unresolved in some way.
An expression of humility, forgiveness and compassion we could say are offered .
Here are a few suggestion I myself have found of assistance.
1. A well known shortened version of the Hawaian forgiveness prayer which can used for ourself, for situations, for others , for our body.
I'm Sorry
Forgve me
Thank You
I love you
2. Simply resting back quietly sipping the infusion and listening to the body is a form of prayer/meditation.
Quoting Eric Baret
" Listening is just abiding to the fact "
" Listening is the very core of Life "
3. The Rumi poem The Guest House is in many ways a beautiful Prayer. I will just quote a few lines ( its worth checking out the whole poem) .
This being human is a guest house.
Every Morning a new arrival
A Joy, a depression, a meaness
Some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor
Welcome and entertain them all.
These 2 wonderful plants dance together so beautifully. In a way that reminds the body/mind that it is safe to to meet old memories , old beliefs and thoughts of the past. That we need not push them away. We can offer them the gift of completing their energetic journey.
These plants dancing together in an infusion remind the body it is not only safe , there is also the support to feel the sensations of vulnerability. At the heart of the vulunerabilty is a strength that dissolves as a softness arising. A calming, reassuring heartfelt compassion.
Re-establishing ancient pathways of wholeness with now relevance.
This gentle caring formula supports and soothes the nervous system with such ease.
For me when I sip this herbal nectar of Passiflora and Rose Petals there is a felt sense of being held in universal loving arms.
More and more we are hearing of the wisdom and healing benefits of nature and the interconnectedness of everything.
For most of us we need ways in which we can relate and more importantly directly experience the wholeness being spoken of.
Our body can offer such a doorway as we discover how to truly care and listen to our body with compassion and with understanding.
Plants are the body’s friend gently whispering and reminding us of our wholeness. Soothing and vitalising simultaneously.
The plants are interconnected deeply with the earth, the sky, the rivers, the oceans with everything including our body’s.
This beautiful alchemy/ friendship between the body and plants gifts us this amazing opportunity of recognising our beingness, our wholeness, our interconnectedness through the quality of care which is inherent within all healing processes.
To care for the body , to listen to our body is a sacred art available to all of us. In discovering how our body functions not just physiologically also energetically including our emotional responses and felt sense awareness we have a doorway in which an opportunity to remember our beingness, our interconnectedness with everything. The body is welcomed as an aspect of the whole of life, as Life.
An expression of loving care can be as simple and easy as sipping a herbal cuppa daily.
An expression of loving care can be as simple and easy of being the true scientist of how your beautiful unique body functions.
An expression of loving care can be as simple and easy as being willing to listen to our body each day.
I hear the queen of the meadows ( the graceful herb meadowsweet) whispering of her gifts and qualities she offers so happily and freely .
As I make a brew of this receptive and soothing herb, I offer thanks for her many blessings.
Herbal teas touch the body , we could say almost soak the tissues of the digestive system with the herb’s beautiful qualities.
I sense this is a gentle welcoming process for the body . As meadowsweet sings of supporting the digestive area of the body, this gentle soothing approach of sipping an infusion is often what the body is asking for when the digestive system is uncomfortable.
Meadowsweet reminds the body it is safe to open to the sense and feeling of spaciousness. Offering the properties of soothing inflammation, cramping, reflux and more .
Whispering of the interconnection of the whole physiology.
Meadowsweet offers assistance in reminding the body of its natural flow of functioning of assimilating, digesting and eliminating.
We can also sip an infusion of meadowsweet as an expression of care for this amazing vehicle the body.
Enjoy sipping this herbal nectar with it fragrance of almonds and honey . Just a delight !
4 Herbal gems to support the body during experiences of releasing and grief.
In lovingly caring for ourselves and the body during such experiences we can offer lots of space ,lots of time if needed. In other words walking at our own pace, our own unique rhythm.
The bodys herbal allies can be a part of such loving care.
Here are 4 herbs that i feel truly support the body during the process.
Rose
Marshmallow Root
Nettle
Oat Straw
Letting the felt sense of the pelvic area of the body being held in the Universal Mothers arms , held safely with unconditional love can be of assistance in such experience, supporting the body to feel safe. Holding with deep compassion for our challenging experiences.
Even though our experience of letting go/releasing/grief may not appear to be related to the pelvic area . This area of the body is often touched emotionally/energetically particulary for women this area is sometimes described as second heart area.
" your grief for what you've lost lifts a mirror up to where you are bravely working "
Rumi
