Celebrating craig wood sails Record-Breaking Pacific Crossing!

Last night, supporters and sponsors gathered for an unforgettable evening at the spectacular Palo Alto Networks HQ in London to celebrate and honour Craig Wood and his incredible solo sail across the Pacific Ocean.

With the unwavering backing of his sponsors, Craig made history by becoming the first triple amputee to sail solo, non-stop, and unsupported across 7,506 nautical miles of the Pacific Ocean. The event marked a special moment as Craig was presented with two Guinness World Record certificates:

🏅 First solo ocean crossing by a triple amputee
🏅 First solo Pacific Ocean crossing by a triple amputee

Reflecting on the achievement, Craig shared:
“These records represent more than a personal achievement. They’re about redefining limits, challenging perceptions of disability, and showing what’s possible with the right mindset and support. Grateful to everyone who’s backed me on this journey—this recognition belongs to all of you as much as it does to me.”

A heartfelt thank you to Craig’s sponsors who made this journey possible: boxxe, Google Cloud Security, Palo Alto Networks, Dataminr, and Veeam Software.

Craig Wood is a British Army veteran and former rifleman who lost both legs and his left arm in an IED blast in Afghanistan in 2009. In June 2025, he completed a remarkable 90-day journey from Mexico to Japan aboard his boat, Sirius II—a feat that redefines courage, determination, and human potential.

TEAM FORCES & TURN TO STARBOARD SAILING REGATTA - A VOYAGE OF PURPOSE

Last week, sixteen Team Forces sponsors joined us in Cornwall for an unforgettable few days on the water with Turn to Starboard – one of our brilliant beneficiary charities supporting veterans and their families through sailing.

Our crews — a mix of first-timers and seasoned sailors — braved 20-knot winds, fog, torn sails and Cornish rain, sailing from Falmouth to Fowey and back. Along the way, we shared pasties, spotted dolphins, and heard from Dan (Turn to Starboard’s COO) about the charity’s remarkable impact, on himself and others too.

In the last year along they have delivered;
467 weeks of sailing
2,335 sailing days
189 veterans have been supported

This wasn’t just a sailing trip. It was a powerful opportunity for sponsors to:
• Reward and empower their teams
• Connect remote or multi-office colleagues
• Learn from other companies and the Turn to Starboard team
• See first-hand how their support is changing lives in the military community

A huge thank you to the whole Turn to Starboard team – we can’t wait to return! To learn more or donate visit www.turntostarboard.co.uk.

Climb 2 Recovery – Peak District 2

A week of climbing, connection, courage — and community that truly matters. This one-page report captures highlights from our latest course in the Peak District, where members took part in Learn to Climb, Learn to Lead, and independent climbing. But as always, the impact ran far deeper than the activity.

Our members said it best:

“C2R is definitely unique within the military charity sector. They make a promise to be there throughout your journey. More than that, if you want to gain qualifications, they will support you through that process — that is massive.”

“… it is an incredible charity. The community, support, challenge and progressive courses are so powerful and so badly needed.”

“C2R continues to be a lifeline whilst I navigate significant psychological and physical injury. Moreover, it provides a community — like-minded people all navigating their own equally complex journeys.”

This is why we do what we do — and why we keep doing it. Because the journey of recovery is long, personal, and far more than clinical. It takes time, challenge, connection, and something meaningful to work towards.

“It gives me something to look forward to. I feel more confident each time I attend. The difference in my head space between the first course and this is night and day for me!”

“I was apprehensive but quickly discovered I had no need to be. Everyone made an effort to talk to me… I had a really chilled yet productive week, and I can't wait to come back to learn new skills, see everyone again, and carry on the C2R ethos.”

This is what Climb 2 Recovery is all about: Therapeutic without therapy. Life-changing. Life-saving.

To finish the week we want to say a huge thank you to T2S Ambassador and veteran . Many of you know Craig and have sailed with him at T2S and many of you will have followed his progress as he solo sailed across the Pacific from Mexico to Japan.

Craig’s trip not only set a world record but also raised over £30,000 for T2S and the same amount for fellow veterans charity . Craig’s resilience, strength, determination and generosity towards others is remarkable and embodies the spirit of the veteran community. 💪🏻

Craig we salute you and thank you not only for your service but for your support of fellow veterans and those who serve the veteran community. 🫡 🙏
