February Member of the Month

Julie Partrige

Julie took part in our last Heart Health Programme in September/October 2025.
Having suffered some cardio vascular issues over the last few years Julie had lost all confidence in herself and was very unsteady on her feet needing to use a stick to walk.

There were plenty of wobbles and tears during the course but with a little patience and support from the team and her peers on
the course, Julie’s confidence grew and grew and slowly but surely her mobility and balance improved and the stick was left in the corner.
There were indeed more tears as the course progressed, but this time happy tears when Julie realised what she thought she could never do again she absolutely and most definitely could do. Julie joined us at our Codford class straight after the programme finished and has come on leaps and bounds, no more tears just
lots of smiles and laughter.

Julie the whole Happy Hearts Team and your class colleagues are so very very proud of you.

Yesterday I announced Happy Hearts ‘had done a thing’
Look 👀⬇️

10 years ago we won the ‘British Heart Foundation’ Award for Innovation in Cardiac Rehabilitation and now we have been awarded the South West Prestige Award for Specialist Fitness Programme of The Year 2025/26
Lots to tell you all, as to why we won this and our future plans for Happy Hearts and our members and future members
We have had to keep this a little to ourselves for a few months until the award ceremony ( although I have told a few as it’s been hard to keep a secret)
Keep tuned more details to come with time
A huge thank you to all our fantastic members with out you we would never have achieved this
