I had the most fantastic evening at Candlelight Concerts by Fever in the Plymouth Aquarium. There’s something truly magical about listening to beautiful live music, and when you go to see Haldon Quartet, you know you are in for a treat.

I’ve had the pleasure of attending their concerts before, and this time the incredibly talented quartet performed a Tribute to Simon & Garfunkel (their rendition of The Sound of Silence left me absolutely speechless and teary).

Always a stunning performance, with just the right engagement between songs, makes this Devon based ‘awesome foursome’ very unique. The gentle glow of candles and the graceful movement of the fish (and starfish stuck on the window😊) created an atmosphere me and my graduate friend never forget. ❤️

🌿 Time off 🌿

For those without school-aged children, you may not have heard – October half term has been extended to a full two weeks! Some parents are feeling the joy, others the strain of finding extra childcare, nevertheless children are overjoyed. 😃

As I didn’t manage to take any time off during the summer holidays, I’ll be spending next week with my youngest exploring beautiful Somerset.

The studio will therefore be closed next week (27-31), and I’ll also be taking this Friday off (24) to attend not one but two graduations 🎓🎓 — congratulations to everyone who’s celebrating this special milestone!

Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to welcoming you back for massages and relaxation on 3 November. 💆‍♀️

💦 Why hydrate? 💦

I recently had a Heart Healing session with Diane to overcome my self critical tendencies. From the moment you fill the initial form, you start your healing process, because the questions make you pause and honestly assess your key life relationships.

During the session, Diane helped me through floods of tears to reach forgiveness. She gently guided me through and left me with a personalised recording to continue healing after our session.

I must say, I can be stubborn, and reach out in my own time, so processes take longer. Ultimately I found the beauty in being vulnerable, and started being much kinder to myself too.

I came across a 2014 study from the University of Birmingham found that moderate coffee drinking doesn’t affect hydration levels. And according to dietitian Niamh Hennessy, while caffeine is a mild diuretic, the water in your tea or coffee still contributes to your daily fluid intake.

Why does this matter for massage? 💆‍♀️
Hydration is key to supporting your muscles, circulation, and recovery after a massage. Drinking water, tea, or even coffee in moderation helps your body flush out waste products and keep tissues supple.

So yes, that morning coffee does count towards staying hydrated, but I would still advise decaffeinated alternatives after your massage to get the most out of your treatment. 😊

I’m so grateful to share that my second month at 8 Keast Mews (PL12 6AR) has been a beautiful success! The past several weeks have been filled with meaningful sessions, both with returning clients and with new clients discovering my work for the first time.
