🤰My Hypnobirthing Journey🤰

✨15 years ago, I faced a traumatic pregnancy marked by two close family bereavements and unexpected complications. It was a time of intense grief and confusion with many decisions to navigate and meetings with different consultants in Plymouth and Bristol, yet hypnobirthing and hypnotherapy became my anchor, allowing me to stay in control, manage overwhelming stress, and make the best decisions for my baby.

🙌This experience sparked a passion in me to transform the way hypnobirthing is taught. It shouldn’t just be about natural birth and a few breathing techniques; it should empower women throughout their lives, not just during childbirth.

🥰That’s why I created The Empowered Birth Experience.

❓What Makes My Course Unique:

☀️Personalised Approach: No two births are the same. I tailor each session to your unique needs and preferences.

Beyond Hypnobirthing Basics: We go beyond the standard techniques, equipping you with skills to manage anxiety, cope with pain, and feel supported right up to birth and beyond - with a postnatal meet-up included!

Practical Tools & Resources: You’ll get a treasure trove of materials, research, and specially recorded MP3s to guide you through every stage.

Experienced Guidance: Benefit from my extensive experience as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Hypnobirthing Practitioner.

Life-Long Skills: These techniques aren’t just for labour; they’ll help you manage stress and anxiety in all areas of life.

Unique Content: My course is a blend of proven techniques, personal insights, and decades of experience.

Ready to Feel Prepared, Supported & Empowered?

Join The Empowered Birth Experience and approach your birth with the confidence you deserve, no matter what path your journey takes. Contact me today to book your place - next course starts in October and is already booking up😃

WHAT’S THE POINT OF HYPNOBIRTHING?

“I really wanted to look back at the birth of my 3rd baby and remember it fondly, not looking back and remembering it as a horrific painful experience, like my previous births.”

When Ruth joined my Hypnobirthing Information session, she was exploring different options and wanted to understand what made my course stand out from the rest.

After two challenging birth experiences and trying another antenatal course that didn’t quite meet her needs, Ruth was determined to approach this birth differently. She was eager to see how Hypnobirthing could help her overcome her fears and what it would be like to work with me. I was thrilled when she decided to join the course after our session together.

At the start of each Hypnobirthing course, I ask parents to set their goals and intentions for the birth. Ruth’s wish was clear: to stay calm, feel in control, and be fully present throughout the entire experience.

To say Ruth achieved her goal is an understatement. Calm, in control, and fully present—that’s exactly how she navigated her third birth.

If you’re curious about how I can support you in preparing for a positive birth experience, why not request a brochure today! It includes pricing details and inspiring client birth stories. Drop a comment or message, and I’ll send it your way! ✨

Love this post and hope it helps anyone recovering😍

Diaphragmatic breathing is something I teach on the hypnobirthing course but I never would have thought to use it for scar recovery. Every day is a school day!

Do follow Jen’s page for more tips - not only is she a fountain of knowledge but she’s super lovely and amazing at what she does😀

🧘🏾‍♂️C Section tip - breath work 🧘‍♀️

Get comfy, lying on your back or sitting and practise breathing deeply and slowly into your abdomen - this is called diaphragmatic breathing and it’s so important to get your scar moving, relax all those tissues and your pelvic floor. If you’re not sure, try placing you hands on your tummy to give you feedback, you should feel the tummy move outwards as you breath in. It feels lovely, I promise. If it’s a little painful, just reduce your effort and work within the lower end of your pain… you will be able to breathe deeper as you progress through the stages of healing 🥰

✨✨Raising awareness of C Sections this April✨✨

Over 30% of births are by C- section… whether you chose a C section due to personal choice, prolapse, birth trauma; Or perhaps you had an emergency C section?

There are many reasons for having a C section; it’s empowering for women to be able to choose what’s best for them👌🏻💪🏼

Scar care is an important part of your recovery… I’m running a competition to win two scar therapy treatments with me at my clinic - click the link to enter…

It’s OK to feel mixed emotions about your C section… how do you feel about yours?

⭐️ The Power of Community⭐️

Last week, I met up with a few new babies and their lovely mums who attended a Hypnobirthing course with me last year. It's moments like these that remind me of the incredible power of building a supportive community during such a transformative time…but also how much I love the post birth meets!💕From sharing birth stories to enjoying cuddles with the little ones, the gathering was filled with warmth and laughter.

Each mum had a different birth story yet told how Hypnobirthing had helped them in different ways during pregnancy, birth and newborn days. I’ve been doing this for over 10 years now - learning, adapting, and working with hundreds of hypnotherapy and Hypnobirthing clients to keep improving and being the best I can for them. Getting to be a part of this time in their lives is an honour and not something I take for granted.🌱

After lunch, they all went away smiling and making arrangements to meet up again. I have to be honest, I also left with happy tears in my eyes as I reflected on the amazing people I get to work with and how lucky I am to meet their beautiful babies (dads and grandmas too!) You truly are all wonderful!☺️

If you’re reading this and expecting a baby of your own, I’ll be holding a free online information session on 11th April (link in comments) and for anyone who would like to begin the Hypnobirthing journey, there are spaces available on the course beginning April 25th.📅

COMPETITION - Win 2 x 1 hour C-Section Scar Therapy assessment and treatment sessions!!! 🎉

COMPETITION LINK is here: https://mailchi.mp/dba1b4237001/c-section-scar-competition

Enter by 9pm on 15th April 2024.

It's nearly April!! And that means it's nearly C-Section Awareness Month, so I'm giving away this prize to two women who have a C-Section Scar that is at least 6 weeks old, closed and with no sign of infection. (More Ts and Cs by following the link above).

I have been giving advice on scars for a while now as part of Physiotherapy assessment and treatment. But, I am now offering this as a stand alone specialist Physiotherapy assessment and treatment service. Because I’m a physio, I will assess your scar and any joints, women’s health or msk issues as well to make sure everything is taken into consideration… even the emotional connection. As a physio, I don’t treat scars for aesthetic reasons, but for functional recovery, pain and tightness.

Scars can get tight
Scars can become painful
Scars can cause problems with movement

Obviously, this is not always the case and some people sail through their recovery. But, there are some very simple things that can be done to maximise your recovery and prevent tightness, pain and difficulty with movement post section.

If you know someone this might help, please share, share, share😘
