We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring person to provide Senior Care cover in a small 19 bed care home during night shifts. Working hours are an average of 36 hours per week . We would require a minimum of NVQ 3 qualification in health and social care or equivalent and training in medication administration at a level 3 or equivalent.

The post may include additional cover for sickness and holiday.

We have vacancies available for care right now at Clayton House.

We aim to provide care for people who are finding that it is no longer preferable for them to cope at home. You’ll have your own private individual room with the option to bring your own possessions to make it feel like home.

We have staff members on duty 24 hours a day who will assess the needs of each individual and help to promote independence and to support a full and healthy daily life. We provide care on an individual basis and we will work with each person to establish what their needs are and how we can provide for them with minimal disruption to their own preferred routine.

The range of services varies from person to person but the facilities that we normally help with are:

A laundry service.

Tasty home cooked meals and hot and cold drinks

Support with mobility and general “getting around”.

In house activities and entertainment

Help with personal and medical care to suit your needs

We offer different choices of stay depending on what suits you best. You can come in for respite care which may last only a few weeks or you may decide you want to stay with us full time.

We welcome visitors to the home and you are welcome to call us and book an appointment for a tour or even to join us for lunch.

Working hours are approximately 30 hours per week and you will be supported by another experienced member of staff during your shift. We would require NVQ 2 qualification in health and social care.

Working hours are variable and you will be supported by another experienced member of staff during your shift. We would require NVQ 3 or above qualification in health and social care and medication level 3 would be required.

The post is not for any set hours and would initially be to cover for sickness leave though it may become a permanent position.

We don’t post often on social media as data protection means it can be a bit of a minefield. This Easter however we wanted to say a sincere thank you to all of the friends and relatives of our residents.

You have all been wonderfully supportive and understanding of the changes in how you interact with the home and we are so very grateful that you have embraced the changes in the way you stay in touch.

Your efforts have helped to keep the residents smiling and helped them to feel in touch with the outside world. If you can continue to use the phone, video calls and your visits outside in the garden, we’re quite sure it means the world to them all.

We also want to express our gratitude to all of the support workers outside of the home who are keeping the wheels turning - including the GP surgeries, district nurses, delivery drivers, pharmacies, bin men, council staff, shop workers and everyone else we may not have mentioned directly but have played a part in keeping us safe and supplied. We couldn’t keep our precious residents safe without the support of you all.

We want to round out by sending the biggest possible thanks to all of our incredible members of staff who have done everything they can to bravely make life feel as normal as possible for our residents.
They continue to dedicate their time to the well-being of them all. We would be lost without their devoted support and we can’t thank them enough for all that they are doing in these difficult times.

We hope everyone has a quiet and safe Easter holiday and we look forward to the day when all gets back to normal and we have the busy, bustling rhythm of life back in the home. We look forward to welcoming all of our family, friends and visitors back through the doors when this dreadful virus has passed.
