Leighton’s Legacy – share your memories

For over 50 years, Leighton Hospital has been at the heart of the community. As we look ahead to building a new hospital, Leighton’s Legacy is all about celebrating this journey by gathering the voices and stories that make Leighton so special. We’re working with Cheshire Archives to collate a history of Leighton Hospital. Whether you or your family have worked here, volunteered, received care, supported someone, or joined events over the years, your stories matter, and we’d love to hear from you. There are two upcoming events you can attend to share your memories:
• Wednesday 18 March 2026 from 11am—2pm: Crewe Family History Society– Unit 3& 4, Brierley Business Centre, Mirion Street Crewe. CW1 2AP

• Thursday 26 March 2026 11am—2pm: JET Library IT Suite, Leighton Hospital

👋 Meet Rebecca from RASASC - Cheshire and Merseyside!

We’re very excited that RASASC will be joining us to share the amazing support they provide to anyone (men, women and children from 5 years old) affected by sexual violence. Their team offers free specialist counselling, Independent Sexual Violence Advocates (ISVAs), and wellbeing activities designed to support survivors in a safe and supportive environment.

Through their Wellbeing Project, they run activities like walks, crafts, coffee & chat, yoga and meditation to help improve social, physical and mental wellbeing.

📅 Wednesday 29th April 2026
🕐 1pm – 6pm
📍 Sandbach Rugby Club, 124 Bradwall Rd, Sandbach CW11 1RA

Come along, say hello to Rebecca, and find out more about the free support available across Cheshire and Merseyside. 💜

💐See the full post for more details

A huge thank you to Whitegate Daffodils Farm for donating beautiful freshly cut daffodils to St Luke’s.💙

We are delighted to be offering large bunches of these stunning daffodils for a £2 donation, with all proceeds supporting the care we provide.

Churches, community groups and local organisations 🌼

If you would like a larger quantity of daffodils to share with your community while supporting us, we would love to hear from you. Please contact our community team at community@slhospice.co.uk.

We have 6 wonderful volunteers heading out tomorrow morning to cut fresh daffodils, so it would be fantastic if we could secure some larger bookings today.

Or if you’d simply like to pick up a bunch, please pop in and see us here at the Hospice as daffodils will be available on reception.

Thank you again to Whitegate Daffodils Farm for helping us spread a little spring sunshine. 🌼

Know the 4 T's of Diabetes

-Toilet 🚽 – needing to wee more often than usual, or babies having very wet nappies
-Thirsty 💧 – drinking much more than normal
-Tired 😴 – feeling unusually tired or lacking energy
-Thinner ⚖️ – sudden or unexplained weight

These symptoms don’t always mean diabetes, but they should never be ignored and need checking right away.

Please share this message to help raise awareness of the 4 Ts.
Together, we can help people recognise the signs early and save lives. 💙

The 4Ts are signs of type 1 diabetes in children (and adults).

They’re simple to remember and if you spot any of these signs, at any time, see a doctor for a diabetes test immediately:

Toilet (increased wees and wet nappies or unusual bed wetting) 🚽
Thirsty (drinking lots) 💧
Tired (more than usual) 😴
Thinner (the child may look or feel thinner or their clothes may be looser) ⚖️

While these symptoms don’t always mean diabetes, they should be checked immediately. As if type 1 diabetes is left undiagnosed, it can make you really ill, really quickly and lead to a potentially fatal condition called diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).

Please hit share and help spread awareness of the 4Ts.

Together, we can save lives.
