What does overwhelm actually look like?

It doesn’t always look dramatic.

Sometimes overwhelm looks like staring at your to-do list and doing none of it.
Sometimes it’s snapping at people you care about.
Sometimes it’s procrastination, exhaustion, or feeling constantly “on edge.”

It can look like:

Sleep is essential for both your mental and physical wellbeing, yet many people find it difficult to fully switch off at night. Small changes to your routine can make a big difference.

Create a calm sleep environment
A cool, dark and quiet bedroom can make it much easier to fall and stay asleep.

Create a consistent sleep schedule
Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time each day. This helps regulate your body’s natural sleep rhythm.

Wind down with a relaxing routine
Reading, gentle stretching, meditation or listening to calming music can signal to your mind that it’s time to rest.

Watch caffeine intake
Avoid caffeine later in the day, as it can stay in your system for hours and disrupt sleep.

Be active during the day

Today is about celebrating the strength, resilience and quiet courage of women everywhere.

Not just the headline-makers.
Not just the history-changers.
But the everyday women who keep going. Who show up. Who hold families, businesses and communities together, often while carrying more than anyone sees.

So many of the women I work with are navigating self-doubt, burnout, imposter syndrome, anxiety… all while being the steady one for everyone else. And here’s what I want you to hear today:

You are allowed to take up space.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to want more.

Empowerment isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s choosing yourself. Sometimes it’s setting a boundary. Sometimes it’s finally letting go of the story that says you’re “not enough.”
