Im a little late with this. My feet haven’t touched the ground since I got back from holiday! But as promised, here’s my personal top tips and product choices that kept my hair safe on holiday this year! And I actually swam…I even snorkelled this year 😝 still can’t believe it, I loved it!

First up, I made the decision to remove some of my hair extensions. I wear 2 tracks of hair typically, but dropped this down to just 1, which made everything so much easier! So if the option is there for you to remove completely (which is always the best option) or take a little out, I would definitely recommend! It can go straight back in after your hols.

We all know (hopefully 🙏🏼) that suncreams are the absolute enemy for hair extensions! The discolouration is wild! So the only option is to keep hair well away from the skin and wash hands after applying and if your going to enjoy some cocktails, just try and remember all this if you decide to whip your hair down in your holiday happiness frenzy 🤣🍹

Hats are my best friend on holiday. There are so many to choose from. A good hat can look amazing and will protect your hair and scalp from UV rays, which can cause discolouration super fast. So always invest in a good hat.

My shampoo choices were colour wow colour security. They sell in smaller bottles, so it was much easier for the weight limits! Although I did nearly run out. 🙈

A HUGE tip is if you know your going to get your hair wet, so pools, sea, water parks etc, rinse your hair throughly firstly with fresh shower water and then apply either the Philip Kingsley swim cap product or just your conditioner will do. Hair is porous and will take in the fresh water and product initially, which will give it a little protection from absorbing access amounts of nasty chemicals that can be in pools. I also never let my hair dry after, I would always go and give it a thorough wash afterwards before it dried.

Once I’ve washed it’s time for products to keep my hair feeling nourished. I took with me the Remi cachet blow dry spray, which I absolutely love!

After about a week I did noticed my colour beginning to change ever so slightly, which I totally expected given how much water and sun I had been enjoying. Even with all the care, it’ll still happen. So I took with me the Malibu hard water sachets to remove any impurities and gave it a little colour refresh with the Malibu blondes product. I did this once! And it totally worked.

Holiday hair care is another level, prevention is always better than cure and everyone should expect some change, just as you would your natural hair. But hopefully these tips may help a holiday hair disaster in the future 🙏🏼

Birthday glow up ready for the 50’s chapter.
I get asked a lot is my hair too long for my age…. My answer is always as long as everything looks completely natural age does not matter when it comes to length. Years ago ladies did not have the options we have now; from having babies, going through menopause and due to many other factors, our hair naturally thins as we age, so the only way to stop hair looking thinner was to have shorter cuts. Luckily we are in an era where anything is possible hair wise. So if you are toying with whether to go shorter for age appropriation, definitely explore some options firstly before succumbing to the chop ✂️ having beautiful hair isn’t just for the under 40’s it’s for life 🥰 ❤️

We are having an absolute amazing time! This is the first holiday I’ve needed to be a complete water baby, as I usually avoid pools/sea 🙈 so far my hair is still in tact colour wise and condition 🙌🏼 I’ll post all my tips, tricks and product recommendations at the end of my trip as I don’t want to speak too soon, but it’s all positive currently!

Just a little note to say I’ll be on annual leave from Saturday 26th July - 12th August, so if you need me please contact me ASAP. I’m taking some precious family time and won’t be available for hair talk personally until I’m back in work. The salon is still open so please don’t worry. Please feel free to contact us as usual on Facebook and insta and the girls will reply in due course. Or obviously the easiest thing is to call the salon within our opening times.

With it being the holidays we are really limited on appointments until September, so please bare this in mind if you need to reschedule. I’ll publish any remaining availability over the next day or two.

This colour is just beautiful! A multi-tonal ash masterpiece 🩶🤎🤍 we used 128grams 16” nano weft using our favs shades 9/613 and T5 - 5/55 mixed. This beauty gets married soon, have the most amazing day!.
