MONDAY MYTH: Osteopathy is only for back pain. ❌
This is one of the most common misconceptions we hear.

While osteopaths do treat a lot of back pain, osteopathy actually looks at how the whole body moves and functions together. Pain or restriction in one area can often affect other parts of the body.

At the clinic we regularly see patients for things like:
• Neck pain and tension
• Headaches linked to the neck
• Shoulder problems
• Sports injuries
• Hip and knee pain
• Postural strain from desk work
• Pregnancy-related aches and pains
• Paediatric osteopathy for babies and children

Using hands-on treatment, movement advice and supportive therapies such as K-Laser, osteopathy aims to reduce pain, improve mobility and help the body recover naturally.
Sometimes the problem isn’t where the pain is — it’s where the movement restriction is.

If you’re struggling with pain, stiffness or injury, you can book an appointment online via our website sandbachosteopaths.com or call 01270 759491.

“I thought it was just something I had to live with.”
We hear this from patients all the time.

Many people assume ongoing back pain, headaches, neck tension or joint stiffness are just part of getting older or having a busy lifestyle. But persistent pain is often a sign that something in the body isn’t moving or functioning as well as it should.

Osteopathy focuses on identifying and treating the underlying cause, helping to restore movement, reduce tension and support the body’s natural healing.

We may also use treatments such as K-Laser therapy, which can help reduce inflammation, relieve pain and support tissue recovery.

You don’t have to accept pain as your normal.

If something has been bothering you for a while, it may be time to get it checked.
Appointments can be booked online via our website sandbachosteopath.com or call 01270 759491.

We’re so grateful when patients share their experiences.

At the clinic we use K-Laser therapy alongside osteopathic treatment to help speed up recovery from injuries and painful conditions. K-Laser works by stimulating the body’s natural healing processes, helping to:
✔ Reduce inflammation
✔ Relieve pain
✔ Improve circulation
✔ Accelerate tissue repair
Combined with expert assessment and hands-on osteopathic treatment, it can be a powerful tool in helping patients get back to normal activities more quickly.

🤕 Not all headaches start in the head. In many cases, tension and restriction in the neck and upper back can trigger headaches — often called cervicogenic headaches.

Here are three common signs your neck might be the cause:
1️⃣ Your neck feels stiff or sore
If your headache is accompanied by tightness or reduced movement in your neck, the joints and muscles there may be contributing to the pain.
2️⃣ The pain starts at the base of the skull
Headaches that begin at the back of the head and spread forward towards the temples or eyes are often linked to tension in the neck.
3️⃣ It’s worse after sitting, screens, or poor posture
Long hours at a desk, looking down at your phone, or driving can place strain on the neck and trigger headaches.

How osteopathy can help:
Osteopathic treatment focuses on improving movement in the neck, reducing muscle tension, and addressing postural factors that may be contributing to the problem. Gentle hands-on treatment can help relieve pressure, restore normal mobility, and reduce the frequency or intensity of headaches.
We can also provide advice on posture, stretches and lifestyle adjustments to help prevent headaches from returning.
If headaches are becoming a regular problem for you, it may be worth looking beyond the head and assessing the neck.

Thank you for this wonderful feedback about Nina Vasco, our paediatric osteopath at Sandbach Osteopathic and Sports Injury Clinic.
Nina has a special interest in treating babies, using very gentle osteopathic techniques tailored to each stage of development.

Paediatric osteopathy can help support babies who may be experiencing issues such as feeding difficulties, unsettled behaviour, digestive discomfort, or tension following birth. Treatment is always gentle and designed to support the baby’s natural movement and comfort.

Osteopathy can also be very beneficial for new mums, helping with common post-pregnancy issues such as back pain, pelvic discomfort, neck and shoulder tension from feeding or carrying a baby, and supporting recovery after pregnancy and birth.
It’s wonderful to see how much Nina’s caring and thoughtful approach means to the families she works with.

It’s a common belief that the best thing you can do for an injury is simply rest. While rest can help in the early stages, it rarely solves the underlying problem on its own.

Many sports injuries involve issues such as joint restriction, muscle imbalance, reduced mobility, or compensation patterns that develop after the injury occurs. Without addressing these, pain and stiffness can persist — or the injury can keep coming back.

This is where osteopathy can help.
Osteopathic treatment focuses on restoring normal movement, improving circulation to injured tissues, and helping the body heal efficiently. At the clinic, we also use K-Laser therapy, which can support recovery by stimulating cellular repair, reducing inflammation and helping relieve pain.
By combining hands-on treatment, targeted rehabilitation advice, and advanced therapies like K-Laser, we aim to get you back to doing what you enjoy as safely and quickly as possible.
If you’re dealing with a sports injury or a niggling problem that isn’t improving, you can book an appointment online via our website.

💆‍♀️ 3 signs your headache might be coming from your neck 💆‍♂️
Not all headaches start in the head. Sometimes, the neck is the real culprit 👀

You might be dealing with a cervicogenic headache if you notice:

🔹 Neck stiffness or reduced movement – turning your head feels tight or uncomfortable
🔹 Pain that starts at the base of the skull and travels up or behind one eye
🔹 Headaches triggered by posture – long hours at a desk, driving, or looking down at your phone

The good news?
When the neck is the source, hands-on treatment and targeted exercises can make a real difference.
If headaches are becoming a regular feature of your week, it may be worth getting your neck checked by an osteopath.
