🌸 Here are some more lovely moments from Founders' Week! 🥂

Last week, we had the pleasure of joining Sandford Station retirement village - St Monica Trust for a garden party. Over tea, sandwiches, scones and cake, there was plenty of time to catch up, share stories and enjoy good company.

It was a lovely way to mark 100 years of St Monica Trust and reflecting together on what community really means. 💜

A big thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable day!

🎹✨ Founders Week Day 6 – Musical Memories with Helen Wilkins 🎼

Friday brought us another heartwarming highlight as we welcomed back the wonderful Helen Wilkins. A cherished guest over the years, Helen once again delighted us with her masterful piano performance.

Her renditions of classical favourites—including works by Beethoven—had residents singing, swaying, and tapping along with joy.

A beautiful moment of reflection and as we approached the final stretch of our Founders Week celebrations. 💜

🍰 Founders Week Day 5 - Maria Florey and Cream Teas 🫖

What a spectacular Thursday! Our fifth day of Founders Week was packed with joy, , and delicious treats.

We were serenaded once again by the wonderful Maria Florey, an opera-trained singer whose powerful performance encouraged many residents to sing along. 💜

Later, a live stream brought everyone together as we joined residents from all our St Monica Trust sites in a shared garden tea party experience. The residents loved tucking into the strawberries, cakes, tea, and scones!

The celebrations continue this weekend with two special performances in the Clubhouse:

- 🎸 Saturday at 2pm: The Weston Ukulele Players will be performing with their upbeat set.

- 🎻 Sunday at 2pm: The ever-popular Ramblyn Tyme Trio will be bringing the weekend to a lively close.

🎶 Founders Week Day 3 – Our Most Vibrant Day Yet! 🍔

Tuesday was nothing short of spectacular! It was our busiest—and arguably best—day of the week so far, filled with incredible performances, delicious food, and wonderful company.

We kicked things off with a fantastic BBQ for staff and residents, serving up classic burgers and hot dogs while the brilliant Wayne kept the atmosphere buzzing with his DJ set. Then came the mesmerizing Steel Appeal band, whose steel pan melodies transported us straight to the Caribbean! 🌴🥁

As if that weren’t enough, we closed the day with the phenomenal John Prescott Vocalist, a smooth jazz singer with incredible vocals. His soulful renditions of classics had many of the residents singing along.

The energy, laughter, and music made for an unforgettable celebration, and we can’t wait to keep the momentum going. The festivities continue, so stay tuned for more highlights from Founders Week!

Yesterday, on the second day of our centenary Founders Week celebrations, we had the joy of welcoming back The Berkeley Bluebirds. Their incredible swing performance, featuring classics from the 1920s-40s, filled the room with nostalgia and energy.
