Here’s a little update on the monthly meet-up for the Men’s Circle, which took place last week:
Seeing as we had a pizza night in December instead of our regular monthly meet-up, that meant that we hadn’t all been together since the end of November — a lot of the regulars admitted that this is a long time to go without ‘proper man time’! 💪🏻
There were 16 of us, and the truth is, as the space-holder for our circle, I was urged by a good number of the lads to get myself involved with the group activities again (something I hadn’t done for 3-4 months), hence why there aren’t any photos! 😜
The session itself was incredibly powerful, like it always is; there were 2-4 new faces, like there always are, and once things got going, it was truly a massive privilege to watch and listen to the regular comers carry the ethos of what we do every month: being honest, being open, being vulnerable, and so much more that words cannot possibly describe.
As a result, it created and still creates this wonderful inclusive space, regardless of whether it’s your first or tenth circle ⭕️
Vulnerability is what it’s all about, so here’s my share: I’ve been struggling lately, struggling with life, with health, with children, with marriage, with bills, with the day-to-day grind… and about 10 days ago, I shared it with the group. What happened? They rallied around me, sent numerous messages of support, asked me if I needed anything, and one gent even left me a self-care package on my doorstep (shout out to you, GC 💎). I was so overwhelmed by the kindness and support, and it reminded me that, like all men, I do struggle, but I don’t have to struggle alone. None of us do.
We have built and continue to build deep connection, without any WiFi needed! 🛜
To round off, here is a photo from the Coffee Morning we also had in mid-January, one which I couldn’t attend due to ill health. Let all the credit go to these fine men 🙏🏻⭕️⭐️
Stay tuned on here as updates will be coming soon about the important dates for February! 🗓️
