Confirmed date: next Men’s Circle monthly meet-up will take place on Thursday 30 April, 7-9pm. Meeting at St. Clement’s Church Hall (not the church itself!) 📅

There are new faces every month as word spreads of both our safe space for men, and also of the work that we are choosing to do… 🙏🏻⭕️

If this interests any MEN reading this, why not come along and see for yourself?

What do you have to lose? Or, perhaps more importantly, what do you have to gain?

Still trying to find the right words, if I’m honest.

Last Friday, I was deeply honoured to receive the Community Champion award here in Sandwich. To be recognised in this way by our town means a great deal to me — more than I can easily put into words.

But truth be told, this award does not belong to me alone.

It belongs, in no small part, to the many men who have walked through the doors of The Men’s Circle - East Kent over the past 18 months and beyond — those who stayed, those who came for a season, those who spoke honestly, those who listened quietly, and those who found the courage simply to show up.

Some of you have shared burdens that I will never forget. Some of you have taught me more than you’ll ever know. …and even those who doubted it, laughed at it, or didn’t understand it only strengthened my conviction that spaces like this are needed now more than ever.

I also want to thank my incredible wife, Jenna, who has stood by me through all of this — the long days, the doubts, the pressure, and everything in between. None of this happens in isolation, and I am deeply thankful for her strength, patience, and unwavering support.

This work has never been about being impressive; it has always been about trying to create a space where men can be real — where they can take the armour off for a while, breathe, speak honestly, and remember that they do not have to carry everything alone.

If this award means anything, I hope it means that kind of work matters…

So, thank you — to every man who has sat in that circle, to those who’ve supported it from the sidelines, and to everyone who has encouraged me along the way. Big thanks also to Sandwich’s mayor, Cllr Emmet Csuka, for such recognition and encouragement for this humbling project 🙏🏻⭕️

I receive this with a full heart, and with deep gratitude to the Creator

Δόξα τῷ Θεῷ 🙏🏻

Here’s a short update on our monthly meet-up for February, which took place last Thursday ⭕️

What can I say…? I tend to write the same things every month, but that’s because they’re true…

The space that we’ve created is a powerful one, and nothing proves this so much as when a new man/men come along, and by the end of our session, they can almost immediately feel welcomed, seen, heard, and safe… more often than not, they feel understood as well 🙏🏻

It might sound cliché, but it takes a man to understand another man, we’re all wired the same way. Sure, we may think a little differently, sound different, or whatever else, but being a man in the modern world is tough. This is the space to be able to explore this, respectfully, openly, and non-judgementally.

The emotions on show were abundant: indifference, stress, sadness, anger, frustration, tiredness… but also laughter, shared camaraderie, a bit of silliness as well. It ain’t all doom and gloom, it’s about men taking off their armour just for an hour or two, and that in itself is powerful 🛡️

Thank you to all the men who continue to come, and also to our recent newcomers who’ve settled in and contributed so well in such a short space of time 😁

Keep your eyes peeled for further updates on our events in March, I hope to have dates for us all shortly 🗓️

One-word check in? Privileged 🙏🏻✨

Brotherhood is the medicine! 💊

Good afternoon, folks! Happy Saturday ☔️

To confirm, here are our dates for February:

- Coffee Morning: Saturday 14 February, 10am to 12 noon ☕️, The Drill Hall, Sandwich

- Monthly meet-up: Thursday 26 February, 7-9pm, @ St. Clement’s Church Hall, Sandwich

FAQs:
- If I want to come along, do I need to book? —> No, but ideally give me a shout and I’ll make a note of your name for either event 👍🏻⭕️

- Is there any cost? —> The Coffee Morning is usually a case of each man pays for himself, but… if any man is struggling and still fancies a cuppa, we will buy you a brew! ☕️

For the monthly meet-up, there is a £10 energy exchange fee (payable by cash or card). Hot drinks and nibbles will be provided on the night 🫖

- How does it work? What will happen? —> We will either have a monthly theme to explore, or we’ll work in small groups with a simple activity — no man is obliged to talk, share, or have his photo taken. Respect is a core value at our circle ⭕️.

Meaningful connection, no WiFi needed! 🛜

See you soon,

Here’s a little update on the monthly meet-up for the Men’s Circle, which took place last week:

Seeing as we had a pizza night in December instead of our regular monthly meet-up, that meant that we hadn’t all been together since the end of November — a lot of the regulars admitted that this is a long time to go without ‘proper man time’! 💪🏻

There were 16 of us, and the truth is, as the space-holder for our circle, I was urged by a good number of the lads to get myself involved with the group activities again (something I hadn’t done for 3-4 months), hence why there aren’t any photos! 😜

The session itself was incredibly powerful, like it always is; there were 2-4 new faces, like there always are, and once things got going, it was truly a massive privilege to watch and listen to the regular comers carry the ethos of what we do every month: being honest, being open, being vulnerable, and so much more that words cannot possibly describe.

As a result, it created and still creates this wonderful inclusive space, regardless of whether it’s your first or tenth circle ⭕️

Vulnerability is what it’s all about, so here’s my share: I’ve been struggling lately, struggling with life, with health, with children, with marriage, with bills, with the day-to-day grind… and about 10 days ago, I shared it with the group. What happened? They rallied around me, sent numerous messages of support, asked me if I needed anything, and one gent even left me a self-care package on my doorstep (shout out to you, GC 💎). I was so overwhelmed by the kindness and support, and it reminded me that, like all men, I do struggle, but I don’t have to struggle alone. None of us do.

We have built and continue to build deep connection, without any WiFi needed! 🛜

To round off, here is a photo from the Coffee Morning we also had in mid-January, one which I couldn’t attend due to ill health. Let all the credit go to these fine men 🙏🏻⭕️⭐️

Stay tuned on here as updates will be coming soon about the important dates for February! 🗓️
