Arthroscopy is keyhole surgery used to diagnose and treat problems within the knee joint.
Arthroscopy instruments are small, so small cuts in the skin are needed. This has the advantage of faster healing time and a lower risk of infection.
The procedure is used to treat tears of the cartilage, (meniscus), remove fragments of loose bone or cartilage, drilling of bone to promote healing of cartilage and treatment of cruciate ligament injuries.

If you suffer one of these symptoms • Severe pain in knee joint including a very limited walking distance of about ten to fifteen minutes. • Pain all over the knee or complain of pain in the inner or outer aspect of the knee. • The knee pain may be worse while getting up from a sitting position and going up or coming down stairs.
