Struggling with stubborn pain that just won’t shift? 👇

Shockwave therapy could be the game-changer your body needs to:
✔️ Reduce chronic pain
✔️ Speed up healing in injured tissues
✔️ Improve mobility and function
✔️ Treat conditions like plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, and shoulder pain

It works by delivering targeted acoustic waves to the affected area, stimulating blood flow and your body’s natural healing response 🔄

If pain is holding you back from training, working, or just living comfortably — let’s fix that.

📩 DM or call the clinic to take advantage of this amazing offer.

A strong core isn’t about abs ❌

It’s about how you move, breathe, and support your body every single day.

Pilates teaches you to engage your deep core muscles — the ones that stabilise your spine, improve posture, and protect you from injury. But the real magic happens when you combine it with intentional breathing.

Breathing properly during Pilates:
• Activates your deep core
• Strengthens pelvic floor
• Improves control and precision in every movement
• Reduces tension in the neck and shoulders
• Enhances mind-body connection
• Supports better posture and spinal alignment

When you learn to breathe with your movement, your core works smarter — not just harder.

It’s not about crunches. It’s about control, awareness, and strength from the inside out.

Breathe. Engage. Move better. 💫

If you need help strengthening the core and pelvic floor give the clinic a call 📞

Strength & Conditioning for Rehabilitation 💪

Rehabilitation doesn’t stop once the pain settles — in fact, that’s often when the real progress begins.

At the clinic we offer strength andconditioning sessions as part of your treatment plan, helping you build strength, improve movement, and reduce the risk of injuries returning.

These sessions are designed to:
✔️ Support your recovery after injury
✔️ Improve strength and stability
✔️ Build confidence in movement again
✔️ Help you return safely to the activities you love

They’re also perfect for people who would like a structured personal training program without having to step into a busy gym.

Working in a private, quiet, supportive clinic environment, you’ll be guided through exercises tailored specifically to you, your body, and your goals — with professional supervision every step of the way.

Whether you’re rehabbing an injury, getting back into exercise, or just wanting to feel stronger, we’re here to help you move with confidence again.

One of the real joys of working in education is supporting students at different stages of their learning journey.

At S2S Physiotherapy, we’re fortunate to work with students who are at many different points in their training — from those just starting to explore physiotherapy to those preparing to step into clinical practice.

Each stage brings something unique. Early-stage students bring curiosity and great questions that challenge us to think differently. More experienced students bring growing clinical reasoning, confidence, and thoughtful discussions around patient care. That mix creates a fantastic learning environment for everyone involved.

Moments like this also remind us how rewarding mentorship can be. Recently we received this thoughtful gift and message:

“Thank you for all your help — I really learnt a lot.”

Seeing students grow in confidence, develop their skills, and take important steps in their careers is incredibly rewarding, and we’re proud to play a small part in that journey.

🚫 Biggest Mistakes People Make With Back Pain ‼️

Back pain is one of the most common issues we see in clinic — but many people unintentionally make it worse.

Here are 3 common mistakes 👇

1️⃣ Resting for too long
While short rest can help during a flare-up, staying inactive for too long can actually make your back stiffer and weaker.

2️⃣ Only stretching the painful area
Stretching your back might feel good temporarily, but long-term improvement usually requires strengthening your core, hips, and surrounding muscles.

3️⃣ Ignoring the problem and hoping it goes away
Small aches can turn into bigger issues if movement patterns, strength, and posture aren’t addressed early.

💡 The good news:
Most back pain improves with the right combination of movement, strength, and guidance.

If your back pain has been hanging around longer than it should, getting the right advice can make all the difference.

💬 Have you experienced back pain before? Let me know in the comments.

ULTRA SOUND FOR HERNIA

Ultrasound uses sound waves to create images of the muscles and soft tissues. It can help identify whether tissue or part of the intestine is pushing through a weak spot in the abdominal wall — which may indicate a hernia.

👨‍⚕️ Common hernias we see:
• Inguinal (groin area)
• Umbilical (belly button area)
• Incisional (around previous surgical scars)

💡 What happens during the scan?
The clinician may ask you to cough, strain, or change position during the scan. This helps reveal any movement or bulging that might confirm a hernia.

🏥 Recommended treatment depends on severity:
• Activity modification to reduce strain
• Targeted physiotherapy to improve core stability
• Monitoring small, symptom-free hernias
• Referral to a surgeon if the hernia is large, painful, or worsening

⚠️ If you notice:
• A bulge in the groin or abdomen
• Pain when lifting, coughing, or straining
• Discomfort that doesn’t settle

…it’s worth getting assessed early.

Taking action early helps prevent complications and ensures you get the most appropriate care.

Getting competition-ready 💪

This session focused on keeping the knees performing at their best ahead of the Arnold’s Strongest Women event for our strongest women 💪🏻

We started with dry needling to both knees to help release tight structures and reduce pain, followed by laser therapy to support tissue recovery and calm inflammation.

To finish, I applied kinesio tape to off-load the knees, giving extra support while still allowing full movement during training. 🏋️‍♀️

It’s a privilege to help prepare the UK’s Strongest Woman as she gears up for one of the biggest stages in strength sport. Excited to see her step onto the platform ready to perform. 🇬🇧🔥

Outer foot pain? 👣⚡

This is a classic presentation of peroneal tendinopathy with a small tear — confirmed on ultrasound and supported with targeted taping to offload the tendon.

The peroneal tendons run along the outside of your ankle and foot, helping with stability, balance, and push-off when walking or running. When overloaded they can become irritated and even develop small tears.

🔍 What you might feel:
• Pain along the outer edge of the foot
• Tenderness behind the ankle bone
• Swelling or thickening
• Pain with side-to-side movements
• Feeling of instability

What we recommend to help you go strength to strength 💪🏻
✔️ Supportive taping to reduce load and calm symptoms
✔️ Ultrasound imaging to assess tendon structure
✔️ Guided rehab plan to promote healing

🚫 It’s not about complete rest.
✅ It’s about smart loading.

Rehab focuses on:
• Progressive strengthening
• Improving ankle stability
• Addressing biomechanics
• Gradual return to running/sport

Small tears can recover really well with the right plan. Don’t ignore persistent outer foot pain — early management makes all the difference.
