Rokko and his owners are enjoying all of the benefits that come with using a dog stroller. Strollers can give us and our dogs the freedom to enjoy longer walks and explore new places. Not only does this provide important enrichment for our dogs, but it can also help to improve our own health, as we are able to walk further. Strollers are built to support dogs of various sizes and can be used for a variety of conditions that affect mobility or exercise tolerance.

UPDATE ON PHYSIOTHERAPY TREATMENT

Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, our number one priority has always been the health of our team, clients and the wider community. However, the health and welfare of our patients is also truly important to us and so we have been closely monitoring the situation, following government guidelines and taking advice from within our industry, so we can safely move towards offering essential physiotherapy treatment to those pets that need it.

After very careful consideration and a good deal of planning, we are pleased to say we can now see patients at the ARC for essential physiotherapy. Although we will be ‘open’ to our patients, unfortunately it can’t be business as usual. After an assessment of need, those patients that require prompt and essential treatment can visit the ARC, but owners will need to wait outside. However, you can rest assured that the physio team will make each and every patient feel as happy and calm as possible (and they all know where the treat jar lives!).

If you feel your pet needs to be seen by the physiotherapy team, please either contact them direct by emailing info@cromwellarc.co.uk or speak to your vet.

KEEPING MOBILE AT HOME 🐶🐱🐰

Hello everyone! We hope that you have all been keeping safe and are feeling well.

It is fair to say that our pets are loving the extra time at home with us. Why not take this opportunity to assess their mobility at home: How are they moving? Do they move with ease? Or do they appear stiff? How well are they sleeping? Do they get comfortable quickly? Or does it take them a long time to find a comfortable position? How is their appetite? Are they eating normally? Or have they started to eat less? How is their demeanor? Are they wanting to play? Or have they stopped or reduced playing?

Sometimes making little changes at home can help with managing your pets mobility: Using rugs on slippery flooring, adding a baby gate to prevent excessive use of the stairs, providing a supportive bed, raising food and water bowls.

We would love to see some photos of the changes you have made at home for your pets. Share your photos in the comments below and help to inspire other owners!

The ARC team are contactable on info@cromwellarc.co.uk or via Facebook Messenger.

Doing our part to keep pets, clients and our staff healthy during COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

At Cromwell Vets the health, safety and wellbeing of our patients, our staff and our community is our number-one priority.

We remain committed to delivering exceptional care to your pet, while doing our part to reduce the spread of respiratory illness (in particular, COVID-19 coronavirus), including careful monitoring of the health and wellbeing of our staff.

Over the past few weeks, we have taken a series of precautionary steps at our practices in response to this outbreak, including increased cleaning, disinfection and access to hand sanitiser for our staff and clients.

In addition to the steps we’re taking as a practice to protect everyone who works in and visits our practice, we kindly ask that you take the following precautions:
• If you’ve been exposed to COVID-19, had close contact with someone who has, or you’re experiencing symptoms, and your pet needs veterinary care, please call us. We will be able to advise you on how your pets can receive the care they need.
• If you need to change any appointments because you are in isolation, please call us and we will rearrange these for you.
• If you have been self-isolated with COVID-19 and have recently visited one of our practices, please let us know as soon as possible. This is so we can implement measures to protect our staff and other clients, some of whom are elderly or could be more susceptible to illness.
• We are following the government’s most recent advice regarding the measures we need to take to help control the spread of COVID-19.
There’s provision at our practice for you to wash your hands when you arrive and before you leave.
Please contact us if you’d like further advice about caring for your pet over the coming months.

COVID-19 Update
While we are open as usual at the ARC, we would just like to reassure clients of the measures we are taking to keep everyone safe.
• We have hand disinfectants and hand washing facilities readily available, and ask that these are used when entering the ARC.
• All surfaces, door handles and equipment (laser safety goggles etc.) are being disinfected between patients.
• Anyone showing any symptoms (fever, cough, respiratory problems) or who has been to a country that requires self-isolation is asked not to attend the ARC with their pet.
• We ask that the number of people attending the ARC with each pet is kept to a minimum.
• If clients are more comfortable, we are happy to collect pets from cars and treat without owner present.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the ARC team.
