Here comes the sun 🌞

Here at The Holt we welcome the sunshine, the light and the warmth it brings. 🌞We have been thoroughly enjoying some walks and appreciating our village. We look for and love to see local walkers out and about, some with a smile and others with dogs. We listen to and spot birds in the trees and animals in fields. Spring has sprung and we are here for it🌞

Our activity coordinator, Tam, is delivering individual arts and crafts sessions this week. Two of our residents have enjoyed creating beach pictures using a range of media, including tissue and crepe paper, real sea shells, sand, wooden lolly sticks and cotton fabric. Our residents explored different textures and discovered the effects that can be achieved, building up layers to create their finished pieces. -to-one.

Our thanks to Carolyn from Wykeham village for bringing 20 week old lambs, Hetty and Hector, to visit our residents last week. The residents were enchanted to see them, particularly our ladies who were in the Land Army and residents who grew up amongst the farming community.

Some lovely small animals came to visit our residents last week! Guinea pigs ‘Biscoff’, ‘Malteser’, ‘Tinsel’ and ‘Bauble’, two chicks and spaniel ‘Roy’ were spoiled rotten by our residents who were delighted to see them. Petting small animals, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and small dogs, provides significant mental and physical health benefits, including reduced stress, lower blood pressure, and increased feelings of comfort and companionship.

Giddy up! It’s the Grand national race🐎Here at The Holt, all residents carefully and informatively picked a horse, some by name, some by jockey colours.
Then we gathered, watched the run and cheered together 🐎
Lucky Jack was our winner today ✨

Our residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon, getting creative with some Easter crafts🐣🌸

We made beautiful Easter bonnets and created colourful pictures using buttons, with everyone adding their own unique touch. It was wonderful to see so much creativity, laughter and smiles all around💛

Activity’s like these are a great way to bring joy, encourage creativity and spend time together. Well done to everyone involved, your creations look amazing! 🐰✨

Century Celebrations!! Our lovely Dorothy is 100 years old today 🩷- when asked, Dorothy said all she wanted for her 100th Birthday was “Fish & Fizz”.

A huge thankyou to our local fish restaurant Walkers Fisheries, who kindly gifted a portion of fish and chips for our lovely birthday lady. 🤍

Fizz, chocolates and cake. What a perfect day we’ve had celebrating. Topped off with a letter from the King !!!! 👑🇬🇧

Martin the music man came to sing some olden golden classics and of course we all sang Happy Birthday 🤍

To Our Darling Dorothy, from all of us here at The Holt, we are wishing you a very Happy 100th Birthday, filled with joy and love. Thank you for the priceless wisdom you’ve shared throughout the years and for always reminding us how to spread joy and love. 🩷Cheers to 100 years of wonderful memories and amazing moments. 🥂🥂
