We provide a day care service for adults with learning, intellectual and physical disabilities. Our innovative day care programme hosts activities that surround monthly themes; Rio Carnival, Aboriginal, Hollywood plus many more! Getting in touch with our creative side through dance, drama, arts and music to deliver an enriching day.

As part of our activities celebrating World Art Day 15th April, we looked at the work of Sam Metz - specifically their sculpture. Part of Sam’s work revolves around stimming. Some of us set out to respond with the repeated joining of repeating shapes.

World Art Day at Creative Day Care: Part 1

As part of our full day activities to celebrate World Art Day on 15th April, we looked at artworks by Vincent Van Gogh. We attempted to translate those oil paintings into a material used a lot here; tissue paper.

Using the tissue as paint material forced us to think creatively on how to layer colour and achieve different tones. The final outcomes were very much our own, rather than replicas of the paintings we used as the starting point.
