Former Bletchley Park codebreaker celebrates 100th birthday in Scarborough

Today we are celebrating an incredible milestone — Happy 100th Birthday to our wonderful resident, Elva! 🎉💐

Reaching a century of life is truly something special, and Elva continues to inspire us all with her warmth, stories, and spirit. It’s been a day full of joy, laughter, and celebration surrounded by her loved ones.

We were also delighted to welcome BBC Look North, who came to interview Elva and her family to mark this amazing occasion — such a proud and memorable moment! 📺✨

To commemorate this special occasion, His Majesty King Charles III and the Queen Consort have sent Elva a personal congratulatory message on her 100th birthday. This wonderful honour is being presented by Major John Senior, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the County of North Yorkshire.

Here’s to 100 amazing years, Elva — and to many more smiles and cherished memories ahead. ❤️🎂

On Remembrance Sunday, the residents did some crafting while they watched the Cenotaph memorial on the tv. They all enjoyed and happy to create their own poppies. 😍🥰🌺
