We have had a wonderful weekend celebrating the 160th Anniversary of St Andrew’s Church.

Yesterday afternoon was spent enjoying a buffet tea with entertainment from Sid Hambridge, our church secretary.

This morning, Kate Grant led a wonderful, thoughtful service and members of the Worship Team took the readings and prayers.

Our longest-serving church member, Miss Jean Glover, was presented with flowers on the 75th Anniversary of her membership of St Andrew's.

The service included Holy Communion, and was followed by refreshments, including a fabulous Anniversary Cake. We were delighted to be joined by our friend and Worship leader Mark Parker-Randall for this special occasion.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Family Fun Day today - it was a huge success and it was wonderful to see our church filled with so many happy faces and so much chatter and noise! This is what church should be like! Thank you also to all of the helpers who made the day possible, we could not have done it without you.

The name of the unicorn was COOKIE and this has been won by Dylan!

Inclusive Church

St Andrew’s is a United Reformed Church on South Cliff in Scarborough

"We believe in inclusive Church - a church which celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate. We will continue to challenge the church where it continues to discriminate against people on grounds of disability, economic power, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, learning disability, mental health, neurodiversity, or sexuality. We believe in a Church which welcomes and serves all people in the name of Jesus Christ; which is scripturally faithful; which seeks to proclaim the Gospel afresh for each generation; and which, in the power of the Holy Spirit, allows all people to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Jesus Christ."
