Personal triggers can be deep rooted in childhood experiences. Many beliefs that we carry with us are based on strategies your younger self has made to adapt to the environment around us. Whether that be “staying small” or perfectionism based on earning attention as a child. When we recognise these triggers as survival strategies (that all humans have) rather than flaws, we can move past them with compassion into understanding of who we really are and WHY we feel shame or embarrassment.

Neuroplasticity is the ability for the brain to re-organize itself, its neuro connections in response to something new. Eg learning, accident, experience or trauma. By mentally shifting lower, heavy energy into new connections, we are able to REWIRE our brains to serve US. Affirmations tap into our subconscious mind, which controls much of our life (sometimes unbeknown to us). Affirming positive ‘I AM’ statements, we can shift our sense of self to a more positive, resilient state of thinking and being, which extends to our decision making and therefore whole lives.
