Today is an exciting day!

Welcome on Board Candy, our new director!

Hello everyone 👋 I’m Candy Romans

I’m really honoured to introduce myself as a new Director of The Aska Hub C.I.C

I’m a mum to two incredible, neurodivergent boys, and my journey through parenting and navigating the SEND world has shaped so much of who I am. It’s given me resilience, empathy, and a deep understanding of how important it is for families to feel genuinely supported and not alone.

Alongside this, I’m also an adaptive surf coach with the wonderful team at Dexters, which has shown me first-hand the power of safe spaces, trust, and the right support in helping children build confidence and thrive in their own way.

Wellbeing isn’t just a role for me — it’s personal. I’m passionate about creating nurturing, inclusive environments where children feel understood and families feel seen, heard, and valued.

I’m really looking forward to connecting with you all and being part of something that truly makes a difference 🤍

🌿 Introducing The Aska Hub – Family Wellbeing Programme (Pilot Launch) 🌿

We are proud to announce the launch of The Aska Hub Wellbeing CIC .... a new community initiative designed to support families who feel unsupported.

Many parents navigating SEN and emotional wellbeing challenges tell us the same thing:
“I feel overwhelmed.”
“I don’t know where to turn.”
“I feel like I’m fighting alone.”
The Aska Hub was created to change that.

We are launching a small 6-week pilot programme for 8 families who would benefit from:
• Child therapeutic support
• Practical wellbeing tools
• SEN advocacy guidance
• Parent support and reassurance
• Clear signposting to additional services
This is structured, whole-family support, not just individual sessions.

🌳 Investment: £330 per family (payment plan available)
🌿 Limited to 8 families
📅 Starting soon

Message to enquire and book your space.

In a world full of families that struggle under the pressure, families feeling alone, baseless support thats just not long term, accessible or just doesn't meet the increasing needs......

The Aska Hub C.I.C will be there.

Not because we want to be heroes. But because we have been those families. We have been the families that reached out and no one could quite help so we were left just struggling....
We felt judged, we struggled and we felt alone.

Its why we exist. No families should feel like that, so let us be there. Let us hold your hand, share some of our knowledge and lived experience to gently guide you through with empathy, kindness and a friendly face.

Not only that but we will help you access more support services beyond us. Create solid foundations amd friendships that will be part of a village.

This is us, this is what we care about 💚

Exciting announcement from Seaside salt

This new funding allows more children to access Speech amd Language.

Well done guys 💙

𝙸𝚖𝚙𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝙰𝚗𝚗𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝.......... 🤩

We are absolutely thrilled to introduce Seaside SaLT Lighthouse Scheme. Thanks to funding we’ve received from the Postcode Neighbourhood Scheme, families can now opt to pay what they can afford for an initial assessment and specialist therapy.

So if you think Speech and Language Therapy is not affordable, please contact us on Monday 23rd of February, for more information.

We are so excited that now every child in the area will have the opportunity to receive the care and provision they need to meet their full potential, without the worry of long waiting lists and large costs.

Please share this fantastic news with your family and friends! ❤️💛🩵🤍

💬 Advocacy That Feels Human

At The Aska Hub, our advocacy service exists for one simple reason: families shouldn’t have to fight to be heard.
We know that communicating with schools, healthcare providers, local authorities, and other services can feel overwhelming, especially when emotions are high and the stakes are personal.

That’s where we step in.

Our advocacy service helps families:

✔️ Communicate in a calm, clear, and factual way
✔️ Feel confident in meetings and written correspondence
✔️ Understand their rights and options
✔️ Access the right support from services that genuinely care

We are parents too. We understand the worry, the frustration, and the exhaustion that can come with trying to secure the right support for your child.
Our role isn’t to escalate conflict - it’s to reduce it. We help you organise the facts, clarify your concerns, and present them in a way that encourages collaboration rather than confrontation.

✨ A Service Built on Community

Our advocacy service runs purely on donations and funding. It is delivered by dedicated volunteers, many of whom are parents themselves, who give their time because they truly care about making a difference.

This means our focus is always on families, not profit. Every conversation, every meeting, every piece of guidance comes from a place of lived experience, compassion, and commitment.

Advocacy isn’t about arguing.
It’s about being heard.
It’s about ensuring your child’s needs are understood.
And it’s about helping you access the support your family deserves.

If you’re feeling stuck, unheard, or unsure where to start, The Aska Hub is here to stand alongside you.

🤍 Support Our Work
Because this service is entirely donation-funded and volunteer-led, your support truly makes a difference. If you believe families deserve calm, compassionate advocacy, please consider supporting us, whether through a donation, sharing our work, or simply spreading the word.

♡Together, we can make sure no family feels alone when seeking support.♡

Child Mental Health Week: Supporting Children Means Supporting the Whole Family

At Aska Hub, we know something that often gets overlooked.... children don’t exist in isolation.

Their mental health is shaped by the environment around them. By the conversations at the dinner table. By how safe they feel when they’re upset. By whether the adults in their lives feel supported too.

This Child Mental Health Week, we want to gently remind families of something powerful:

💛 When we support the whole family, we protect and strengthen a child’s mental health.

Children thrive when:

• They feel heard, not dismissed
• Big feelings are met with calm, not fear
• Adults have the space to regulate themselves
• Home feels emotionally safe

But parenting in today’s world is hard. Many families are carrying stress, anxiety, financial pressures, relationship challenges, and burnout — often silently.

And when adults are overwhelmed, it becomes harder to hold space for children’s emotions.

That’s why at The Aska Hub, we don’t just focus on the child, we support the whole system around them.

✨ Therapy – A safe space to explore thoughts and feelings
✨ Wellbeing sessions – Practical tools for emotional resilience
✨ Mentor Buddy Scheme – Trusted support and guidance for both children and parents
✨Advocacy/support service

Because a child’s mental health strengthens when:

✔ Parents feel supported
✔ Caregivers feel understood
✔ Families feel connected
✔ No one feels alone

This week is a reminder that asking for help is not a weakness...it’s an act of love.

If your family needs support, guidance, or simply someone to listen, The Aska Hub is here.

You don’t have to navigate it alone.
