This week we begin again.

The March 2026 Level 1 TMJ Massage Therapies® course officially starts and with it comes a new group of practitioners ready to look at jaw pain differently.

Week 1 is always about foundations.
✔️ Understanding what TMJ Dysfunction really is.
✔️ Exploring anatomy in detail.
✔️ Unpacking the layers behind symptoms.
✔️ Learning how to assess properly, not just treat what you see on the surface.

Every cohort reminds me how important this first week is. It shifts perspective, challenges assumptions and lays the groundwork for confident, effective treatment.

I’m excited to guide this group through the next four weeks and watch their understanding deepen.

If you’re feeling the nudge to join us next time, the June 2026 cohort will be the next opportunity to begin. Head to the website to learn more and join the priority registration list so you are the first to know when enrolment is open.

I’m really honoured to share that I’ve been awarded Best Bespoke Massage Treatment Therapist UK in the Global 100 – 2026 Awards.

While awards are never the reason I do this work, moments like this do feel special because they reflect years of dedication to understanding jaw pain properly, not just as a joint issue, but as something deeply connected to the whole body and nervous system. TMJ Massage Therapies® was built from lived experience, clinical curiosity and countless hours in clinic listening to what the body is really asking for.

I’m incredibly grateful to every client who has trusted me with their care and to every practitioner who has chosen to train with me and carry this work forward. Seeing this approach ripple out beyond the clinic and into practices around the world is something I’ll never take for granted.

Thank you for being part of the journey. The work continues and I feel more passionate than ever about helping people find ease in their bodies and lasting relief from jaw pain 💙.

Yesterday we had our pre-course Zoom meet up and I’m always reminded how important this part is.

It’s relaxed and friendly, a chance to put names to faces and hear what’s brought each practitioner to TMJ work in the first place.

Before we dive into anatomy, assessment and technique, we take time to connect, share experiences and answer questions so everyone feels grounded and clear about what’s ahead.

Starting something new can feel big, even for experienced clinicians, so creating that space matters.

This cohort already feels curious, open and ready to look at jaw pain differently and I’m really looking forward to what the next four weeks will bring 💪

For me, education has always been an important extension of clinic work. Everything I teach comes from real conversations, real case studies and years of hands-on experience treating jaw pain. When I’m in a room with dentists, therapists or bodyworkers, the goal isn’t to impress, it’s to encourage people to look a little wider and think a little differently about the jaw.

The more we bridge gaps between professions, the better we serve the people sitting in our chairs. And that’s what this has always been about.

For so many people, jaw tension becomes part of the background. You get used to it. The tightness and the daily ache becomes the norm.

What I love about this method is that it brings awareness back to the area gently. With the right guidance, breath and consistency, the tissues begin to soften and the nervous system follows. It’s simple, but when done properly, it can make a noticeable difference.

If you’d like to learn how to use the Jaw Ball Method® safely and effectively at home, you can find the details on the website - https://www.tmjmassagetherapies.com/jawballmethod.

Screen time isn’t something we can avoid but we can become more aware of how our bodies respond to it.

In clinic, I often see jaw pain linked not to a single cause, but to small, repeated habits that truly do add up. Once that connection is recognised, the jaw is given permission to let go.

I’ll be exploring this phone–jaw connection in more depth in my monthly newsletter, along with practical ways to reduce everyday tension.

One of the things I love most about seeing graduate case studies like this is how clearly they show the power of not forcing change.

Rebecca’s work with her client is a perfect example of what happens when practitioners slow down, listen to the body and treat the jaw as part of a wider system, not an isolated problem to be fixed.

This is exactly why TMJ Massage Therapies® is taught as a whole-body approach. It allows practitioners from different backgrounds to work confidently, gently and effectively, often with results that surprise both client and therapist.

Real people. Real patterns. Real relief.

Wondering if this course is actually right for you?

If you’ve been sitting with questions about your scope, your experience level, or whether this approach would fit into your work, you’re not alone. I get asked these things all the time.

That’s why I’ve put together two simple ways to help you figure it out in your own time. You can explore the FAQs on the website for clear, honest answers, or take the short quiz to get a feel for whether the Level 1 TMJ Massage Therapies® course is a good next step for you.

So often, jaw tension becomes something people live with rather than notice. It settles into your daily life through stress, posture, habit or holding things we haven’t had space to process. Before you know it, it becomes the norm.

Change doesn’t start with force or fixing. It simply starts with noticing. Paying attention to what the body is doing, when it tightens and what it might be responding to.

That moment of awareness is often where things begin to shift.

Behind every TMJ Massage Therapies® course is a lot of care, and a lot of teamwork.

Lisa is the calm, organised force behind the scenes, making sure everything runs smoothly, questions get answered and nothing slips through the cracks. I’m here doing what I love, teaching, sharing and staying deeply connected to the clinical work that shapes everything I pass on.

Together, we’re getting ready to welcome the next group of practitioners and guide them through this work with clarity, support and intention.

Enrolment for the next Level 1 TMJ Massage Therapies® course is now open.

Modern research is increasingly clear: the most effective ways to support people with TMJ pain aren’t isolated or one-dimensional. The evidence shows that combining manual therapy, exercise, postural awareness and whole-body considerations leads to meaningful reductions in pain and improvements in jaw movement.

This lines up with what I see in clinic every day. When we stop treating just the jaw and start listening to the body as a connected system, the results are better and longer-lasting.

If you’re curious about how this whole-body perspective works in practice, I’m always happy to talk more, link in bio.
