🎄Today marks another Christmas, another year gone.🎄

As part of a tradition close to my heart, I always find myself drawn to those who are no longer here to celebrate with us.
Every year, my final job on Christmas Eve is to head to the crematorium with huge armfuls of flowers. I take that slow, beautiful, and peaceful walk through the cemetery, reflecting on each and every person who has passed through my life — whether through flowers or funerals we have carried out for families. Over the past few years, we have also lost so many dear friends along the way.
This year, while being on call at our funeral home, I took the time on Christmas Day to continue this tradition. Remembering each and every person warms my heart. Even though we carry sadness at their loss, we have gained connections along the way — formed during the saddest of times.
A single flower placed by me for each of them, as a sign of respect and with thoughts for their families this Christmas. Alongside this, we have also left flowers in the vases on the flower patio at Woodlands Crematorium for all who may not have a resting place here.🕊

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas 🎅

All our love,

“It was the night before Christmas and Santa was busy making his rounds
He was light on his feet making sure he didn't make a sound.

But he took notice that some homes didn't have that Christmas Glee.
so he decided to stop because he thought that just can't be.

He crept in a mommy's bedroom and stopped dead in his steps, as he saw a little angel hugging his mom as she slept

The little angel looked up and cried " oh Santa you are finally here!!
I've been waiting for you to help me let Mommy know I am near".

Santa picked up the wee angel and asked him " What can I do? I'm just a simple toy maker I can't make your mommy's dreams come true".

So the two of them sat and they sat for a while until the tiny angel jumped up and screamed with a smile.
"let's leave her a sign a beautiful sign from above,
let her know it's from me sent from heaven with love"!!!

So Santa dug and he dug deep, in that big glorious bag that was filled with lots of treats .

He pulled out a beautiful white feather that look like it was made out of snow.
And he thought such a beautiful sign that only a grieving mother would know.

He placed it on her nightstand and kissed the angel on his head.
Then placed him next to his mom as she slumbered in bed.

I think I'll stay here with Mommy and visit her in her dreams tonight,
She misses me dearly and needs to know I'm all right.

Santa made his way to his sled, And wiped a tear from his eye.
He fell to his knees and managed to cry.

Merry Christmas to all the grieving mothers across this big land.
And let it be known your angels are with you holding your hands....”

Thank you so much, Santa 🎅

Wow… what can we say? Another busy Santa visit this year 🎅

The weather stayed dry and we were all in full swing for our Santa visit. It was truly beautiful to see so many parents and children turn out to come and see the big man himself ❤️

As many of you know, we didn’t open the funeral directors to be big and flashy, but to be humble and loving in what we do for our families and loved ones ❤️

We have always wanted to give back to our little community, and that is most definitely what Ashby is ❤️

We have always stayed true to ourselves, creating a funeral directors with a real “home from home” feeling ❤️

Some people say they’re not sure where Santa fits in at a funeral home… and our answer is simple: Santa is a symbol of Christmas, and Christmas is about family and the people we love ❤️

Sadly, as many of us know, it’s not just old age that takes us away, so this is something we need to normalise too. Sometimes it’s children who have to go through the loss of a loved one ❤️

Adele and I are so proud that we have managed to do this for the last 5 years, with the help, love, and support of every single one of you ❤️

We also made a visit to the Disney Ward at Scunthorpe General Hospital, taking our leftover presents for all the children to enjoy over the festive period 🎅❤️

A huge thank you to Santa himself and his elves — it wouldn’t be possible without you ❤️

Merry Christmas to everyone 🎅🙏👌
