Brilliant!

Hi everyone 😊

As Christmas is approaching we are aware that the day itself isn’t always the happy day portrayed across social media for a lot of people.

Everyone is always going through something whether that’s financial stress, family/relationship breakdowns, the loss of a loved one, not living close to family, homelessness, health worries, mental health problems or loneliness.

In light of that, for the second year running, myself and Daisy will be opening the coffee house from 10am - 12.30 on Christmas Day to provide free hot drinks and treats for anyone that fancies coming over for a coffee, a chat with us (and our two fabulous volunteers) and to see some friendly faces!

We are welcoming everyone whether you’re a regular with us or have never been before, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, or whether you just fancy getting out for a walk in the morning by yourself, want to bring the family out for a drink, want to meet up with a friend you might not see usually, whatever your reason we will be here.

Nothing will be available to purchase on the day, it will just be free hot drinks and treats provided by us 🥰

Please let anyone know who may be interested and might not see this 🙏

If this means that just one person won’t feel isolated or lonely on Christmas Day then it will be completely worth it!

🌺 Remembrance Sunday 🌺

Today, our community comes together to remember and honour all those who gave their lives in service to our country. It’s a time for reflection, gratitude, and unity as we stand side by side to pay our respects. #

We’re proud to be part of a community that continues to come together each year — young and old — to lay wreaths, share stories, and remember the bravery and sacrifice of so many.

Let us take a moment today to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the peace and freedom we enjoy because of them.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to those who have experienced the heartbreak of losing a baby. During Baby Loss Awareness Week (9th to 15th October), we take a moment to acknowledge the pain, the love, and the strength of those whose little ones are gone too soon.

We believe it’s important to create space for grief and remembrance, and to support those walking this difficult path.

On Tuesday 15 October at 7:00 pm, people around the world will light a candle in memory of the babies who have died. We invite our community to join the wave of light — whether at home, in your heart, or through a shared moment online.

This morning we said goodbye to a much-loved gentleman at Brightwater Green Burial Meadow. The setting was so peaceful and full of natural beauty — a truly special place to celebrate a life well lived.

Green burials are becoming more popular, and being there today showed just how meaningful they can be. 💚
