Christmas can be a difficult time for those who are grieving.
While the world feels busy and joyful, many are quietly missing someone they love.

If this season feels heavier for you, please know that there is no “right” way to get through Christmas. It’s okay to step back, to remember, to feel, or simply to take things one day at a time.

From all of us here, we’re holding space for those who are grieving this Christmas and sending gentle thoughts to anyone facing the season without someone special by their side. 🤍

As part of our latest Light a Candle campaign, we’ve shared virtual memorial candles to help honour loved ones around the Christmas period. Thank you to everyone who created a memorial candle.

As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

We’re pleased to announce the return of Light a Candle this Christmas!

Taking part in this Christmas’s Light a Candle gives you the opportunity to create online memorials throughout the festive period.

Christmas is a special time to celebrate with family and friends, and our virtual candles are a thoughtful way to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us.

We'll be sharing virtual candles on our page between 15 and 21 December. There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

Brilliant!

Hi everyone 😊

As Christmas is approaching we are aware that the day itself isn’t always the happy day portrayed across social media for a lot of people.

Everyone is always going through something whether that’s financial stress, family/relationship breakdowns, the loss of a loved one, not living close to family, homelessness, health worries, mental health problems or loneliness.

In light of that, for the second year running, myself and Daisy will be opening the coffee house from 10am - 12.30 on Christmas Day to provide free hot drinks and treats for anyone that fancies coming over for a coffee, a chat with us (and our two fabulous volunteers) and to see some friendly faces!

We are welcoming everyone whether you’re a regular with us or have never been before, whether you celebrate Christmas or not, or whether you just fancy getting out for a walk in the morning by yourself, want to bring the family out for a drink, want to meet up with a friend you might not see usually, whatever your reason we will be here.

Nothing will be available to purchase on the day, it will just be free hot drinks and treats provided by us 🥰

Please let anyone know who may be interested and might not see this 🙏

If this means that just one person won’t feel isolated or lonely on Christmas Day then it will be completely worth it!

Today, our community comes together to remember and honour all those who gave their lives in service to our country. It’s a time for reflection, gratitude, and unity as we stand side by side to pay our respects. #

We’re proud to be part of a community that continues to come together each year — young and old — to lay wreaths, share stories, and remember the bravery and sacrifice of so many.

Let us take a moment today to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the peace and freedom we enjoy because of them.

This morning we said goodbye to a much-loved gentleman at Brightwater Green Burial Meadow. The setting was so peaceful and full of natural beauty — a truly special place to celebrate a life well lived.

Green burials are becoming more popular, and being there today showed just how meaningful they can be. 💚
