When every mile matters, so does every person behind it.
IMT Medical Transport never rests, and this poem is for our staff and supply colleagues who continue to work through the festive period and beyond. Thank you for being a part of delivering the gift of life π₯°
The Journey - CH.
While tinsel sleeps on window panes,
And hearths glow soft with cheer,
A different light stays burning bright
For lives that still need care.
In a room where clocks donβt pause for bells,
Nor silence bows to snow,
A twenty-four hour beating heart,
Stays ready, steady, close.
Christmas Day, Christmas Night,
When most are home, hands entwined,
They answer calls that cannot wait,
For hope must keep its time.
A voice comes through the fragile line:
"A match is needed now".
A life held in the balance waits,
For courage, skill, and vow.
Beyond those walls, through darkened roads,
Where frost meets flashing light,
The drivers move with quiet speed,
Through Christmas Day and Night.
Engines hum like promises,
Across the sleeping land,
Carrying the gift of life itself,
With steady heart and hand.
Blood in motion, organs flown.
A quiet, urgent race.
From call to wheel, from wheel to ward,
Each second finds its place.
No carols here, yet something holy,
Moves through every space,
In voices calm, in focused minds,
In miles no snow can trace.
They work unseen, unnamed by crowds,
No spotlight marks their role,
Yet miracles pass through their hands,
On every call they hold.
While laughter lifts from dining rooms
And candles crown the night,
They are the calm, the steady ground,
The watchers through the light.
So praise the ones who stand the watch,
When others lay it down,
From Hub to road, through dusk and dawn,
They never let hope drown.
Not wrapped in bows, nor tied with string,
But given, breath by breath,
The gift of time, of chance, of life,
Against the dark of death.
To those who serve, when the world rests,
Your work is grace made real.
The lights you keep will always glow,
For hearts you have all helped heal.
