The Transplant Games in Oxford were a great success. Can we pass on our thanks and congratulations to everyone who took part in this fantastic event. IMT Medical were privileged to be part of this weekend, and to support everybody who was involved.

It was also great to see one of our own staff (Stuart Wood) take part in the games. Stuart is a recipient of a Kidney Transplant many years ago and he always goes that extra mile to support any worthy event he can - thank you Stu.

Recently, a fellow transplant driver in Germany shared their own reflections about the honour and emotional weight of transporting donated organs. Their words resonate deeply with us, because we feel it too. Every trip, every heartbeat along the way matters. This weekend, sees the start of the annual Transplant games, which are being held in Oxford this year.

The Transplant games were created 46 years ago and has successfully provided a fantastic opportunity for hundreds of transplant recipients, living donors and donor families to celebrate the gift of life through sport.

The key ambitions of the the Transplant games are:

Empowering Transplant recipients to optimise their gift of life through an active lifestyle

Demonstrate the life changing and saving impact of organ transplantation

Raise awareness about the transformative power of organ donation.

A Powerful Reminder About the Importance of Organ Donation.

Today, our team at IMT Medical had the privilege of watching the organ donation and education interview on ITV. The heartfelt story of a young donor and the recipient of a young heart was both moving and educational. Hearing from NHS Blood and Transplant’s Regional Head of Nursing for London and Scotland, Rachel Rowson, further underscored the critical need to raise awareness and encourage people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.
