Being told to “just lighten up” doesn’t help
when something deeper is going on.

Most people aren’t struggling because
they’re too serious.
They’re struggling because something
hasn’t been processed, understood, or
given space yet.

You can only push things down for so long
before it starts to show up in other ways -
stress, anger, overwhelm.

You don’t have to keep managing it on your own.

You can choose a therapist and book
directly with us - no referral needed.

Not all grief is held the same way.

Some losses are recognised.
Others are minimised, misunderstood …or
never spoken about at all.

But the impact is still there.

If you are carrying this quietly, you
don’t have to do this alone.

Support is here for you or someone you know, when you are ready.

Please take a look at Annette or Aelia on our website, you are welcome to go ahead and book one of their appointments if you wish.

Most couples don’t start with big problems.

It builds slowly.
Conversations go in circles.
Things get misunderstood.
One pushes, the other shuts down.
Or they both stop saying what they really feel.

Until talking feels harder than staying quiet.

This isn’t about who’s right, it’s about what’s happening between you.

And that can be worked through.

We offer couples therapy in a calm, neutral space,
where both people can be heard.

You are able to go onto Karen’s page on our website and book directly when you are ready.

🌳 The Magic Faraway Tree
As a child I loved Enid Blyton books and
my favourite was the magic faraway tree. ❤️
I loved disappearing into the enchanted
forests with the characters in the story. 🧚🏽

Last year I heard they were making it into a
film so I was very excited. I encouraged my grandchildren to promise to come with me
to watch it, which we did this Easter weekend.

Sitting there watching it and being in
that world again, it reminded me that
feelings of being safe, calm and held don’t disappear.

They stay somewhere inside us.

And when life gets heavy we come back to things that once gave us that feeling
We can find it again.

Sometimes we just need reminding it’s still
there.

Some children learn very early
that safety isn’t guaranteed

So they watch, they adjust,
they stay one step ahead.

They learn what keeps things calm
and what makes things worse.

What looks like “going along with it”
is often someone keeping the peace.

Not because they’re the same
but because it was the safest option available.

If you’re worried about how your child
has been affected, it might be time to
Get them some support.

I really wasn’t expecting this today, it’s a huge surprise.

My GM team have given me these gifts today for my birthday. The thoughtfulness that has gone into it, the kindness, the effort …it’s honestly made me happy tearful.

It’s not about the gifts really, even though they are so lovely, it’s about the people behind them - and I’m very aware of how lucky I am to have such thoughtful, genuine people around me.

Thank you to my people 💛 I appreciate it more than you know.

What we need are the basics.

To be heard.
To be understood.
To be met with empathy.

Not as a luxury.
Not as something you have to earn.
But as something human.

When those needs are met, people adapt.
They stay quiet.
They second guess themselves.
They carry more than they should.

And it can look like coping…
but it often feels like being alone.

There’s nothing excessive about needing to
be met properly.
That’s where things start.

Sometimes it doesn’t look dramatic from
the outside.
Things keep moving, people carry on, life
doesn’t pause.

But inside, something slows … or shuts
down … or just can’t keep going in the same way.

It didn’t hit you all at once. It was the point where it couldn’t be held in anymore.

Support is here when you’re ready. You
don’t need to be sure to begin.

A little look at the Easter touches around
Grey Matters Centre. 🐣🌼

Spaces like this are more than just rooms …
they’re where children begin to feel safe
enough to talk, play, and be understood.

If your child has been struggling lately -
big feelings, worries, behaviour changes,
or just not quite being themselves - you don’t have to figure it out all alone.

Rebecca, our child therapist, currently has
a few spaces available.

You don’t need to be sure. Just curious is enough to begin.

Your feelings matter. Whether you’re
struggling or needing someone to listen,
