A special morning at Lindsey Lodge. 🍰 ✨

Today marked a truly special occasion as we officially celebrated the grand opening of our newly refurbished Meet and Eat restaurant. This incredible transformation was made possible by a generous £25,722 donation from Esh Construction and the YORhub YOR4Good Fund. 👏

It was a pleasure to welcome the team from Esh this morning to see the project they made possible. Rachel Hanlon, Social Value Coordinator at Esh Construction, shared her thoughts on the project:

“We are delighted to have been able to support Lindsey Lodge Hospice through meaningful social value initiatives including donations and volunteering. This café is more than just a place to eat—it’s a lifeline for many in the community, and we’re proud to have helped unlock its full potential.

“Our donation has helped Lindsey Lodge begin to create long-term benefits like increased fundraising through commercial use, greater community engagement, enhanced patient experience and wellbeing, and improved operational efficiency for hospice staff.”

Thanks to their generosity, our popular restaurant which is open to the public can now welcome even more guests to help us raise vital funds.

Beyond the restaurant, Esh's support has also provided free tablets for every room on our inpatient unit, allowing patients to stay connected with loved ones and enjoy entertainment with ease.

From everyone at Lindsey Lodge, thank you, Esh Construction, for your incredible support and for helping us create a space that will benefit our patients, their families, and our community for years to come. 🧁 💛

Our apprentice challenge has officially come to an end! What an amazing journey it's been, with our apprentices putting in so much hard work and dedication. 🎓

Each team started with £50 and used their skills and initiative to grow that into as much as they could. We were proud to present Frederick Gough students with their participation certificates, recognising their incredible efforts.

This challenge has been about more than just raising money; it's helped our students develop and learn new skills while also raising awareness and funds for the hospice. A big thank you to every team that has took part, you should all be very proud of yourselves.

The winning team, who will receive a £400 Amazon voucher, will be revealed next week... keep an eye out 👀 💛

🎅✨ Santa Sprint is back! ✨🎅

The Santa Sprint is officially back, and we're so happy to announce that Westcliff Primary School have already signed up to make a difference this year! 🥳

In this video, you'll hear directly from their Business Manager, Cheryl, about why they're so excited to get involved. Their amazing effort last year was truly inspiring.

This is a fantastic way to bring the festive spirit into your school while supporting Lindsey Lodge.

Students will dash through a magical course on their school grounds, collecting a Santa hat, cookies, a candy cane and chocolate coins. After they've completed the sprint, every child earns a spot on the "Nice List"! 📜🍪 🍬

Want to join the fun? We provide everything you need, completely free of charge. All we ask is that each child raises a minimum of £3!

At Lindsey Lodge, our goal is to provide exceptional, individualised care for every patient. This National Inclusion Week, we want to share the story of our patient, Susan Flower.

Susan suffers from anxiety and found it difficult to move from her home environment. She was worried about her condition and what the future held. The hospice team knew that to give Susan the best care, they needed to take their time, build her trust, and be completely honest and transparent. She told us this helped her feel comfortable and empowered to take her next steps without unanswered questions.

Music is a great source of comfort and happiness for Susan, and on Friday, she got 'glowed up' and joined our Glow Walk. With the staff's support, she was able to sing and dance, something she said she wouldn't have done without their encouragement. Susan also finds peace in the simple things, like having a bird feeder outside her window, which helps to calm her anxieties.

Susan's story reminds us that caring for someone is not just about their medical needs; it's about making them feel safe, supported, and included, so they can continue to live every day to the fullest.

Thank you, Susan, for allowing us to share your journey. 💛

We had the pleasure of celebrating a special occasion at Lindsey Lodge last Friday. 🎉

John marked his birthday with his two sisters, and it was a privilege to be a part of it.

We loved seeing the room filled with birthday decorations, cake, and laughter as they celebrated together, creating new memories. 🎂

📣 New Shop Alert!

We're thrilled to announce the grand opening of our brand-new clearance shop in Scunthorpe tomorrow morning, Wednesday, 17th September!

Located in the Parishes, this new store is where you'll find incredible deals and the lowest prices on end-of-line stock from all of our charity shops across North Lincolnshire. We'll have everything from menswear and womenswear to children's clothes, bric-a-brac, and toys. Come find a bargain and support a great cause!

Keep an eye out for our marketing team around Scunthorpe tomorrow! We'll be asking people to guess the cost of an outfit, and anyone who features in our video will receive a voucher for one item from the new store. 📸
