🦋 M e n t a l H e a l t h M a t t e r s 🦋

Our mental health IS just as important as our physical health and this is one of the reasons I offer a FREE initial consultation for everybody.

The initial consultation is a chance for us to meet either face to face or online and is your opportunity to share what has brought you to contact me. For most people this takes a weight off their shoulders, sharing this information with me is the start of your journey.

I explain how our brain works, why we think, act and behave like we do when we suffer with our mental health. I also explain how we can bring about positive change by us working together and helping you to move forward in your life.

If now is the time for you to make that change, please do get in contact with me.

🦋 W a s I t A B a d D a y ? 🦋

I was chatting with a client in their session and they were explaining that something had happened one morning which set the tone for their day and they felt really negative. They felt what they were doing was rubbish, they were rubbish, life was rubbish!!

They then stopped in their tracks and pulled a coping mechanism out of their mental well-being toolkit and managed to calm themself down and change their thoughts around. They were super proud of themself for being able to do that, as was I.

They then heard this quote which they shared with me, it is so true:

‘When you think you’ve had a “bad day” consider this….Was it a bad day? Or was there just one 10 minute event that didn’t meet your expectations?
You don’t class a year as bad year because you had one bad day in it.’

Can you relate to this?

It is about learning to put things into perspective and come up with the answers based on a proper assessment of the situation. You can only do this when you are operating from the rational, calm part of your brain. This is one of the things you learn to do when we work together, therefore allowing you to take back control.

Today I am thankful for celebrating our son’s 13th, teenager (eek) birthday. He is growing up to be such a kind, caring and fun loving little man and I breathe in every single minute I have with him.

My journey to motherhood was not plain sailing. I was told I was infertile which was incredibly hard to deal with, however we were very fortunate and we did fall pregnant. Fast forward to a incredibly anxious pregnancy, a crazy birth experience and a very, very poorly baby which all left me with anxiety and which I now believe was postnatal PTSD for around 4 years. Thank goodness to family and friends and Solution Focused Hypnotherapy which got me to where I am today.

What I have learnt along this journey is to embrace all the moments being a parent brings, the hard times, the emotional times and the happy times (it’s not always easy is it!!).

All I know is that I am just so thankful to be my sons mummy and to be able to watch him grow up. I thank my lucky stars every single day for the gift that he is.

Feeling grateful ☺️

🦋 C r e a t e T h e L i f e Y o u W a n t 🦋

You are in control of the choices you make about your life.

When you find yourself struggling in life, it can be easy to get lost in a series of bad choices and creating habits that aren’t particularly useful.

The beauty of choice is that you have the ability to start making different choices and make a change in the direction that you are heading. To create the life that you want to lead.

I made the choice some time ago that Friday mornings were going to be a day for me and that these would be non negotiable. I put my hand up and say that I’m not always good at putting my needs before others, i do recognise this and have put a few things in place to create a better balance.

A huge thank you to the The Nomadic Sauna for becoming an important part of my Friday mornings. I absolutely love going to the sauna and meeting amazing and interesting people and reaping all the benefits that the sauna has to offer.

Have a think of any small changes that you could make in your life to help you work towards the life you want to create.

If you would like my help with this then please do reach out.

🦋 H y p n o s i s 🦋

Here is my poem about hypnosis (aka guided relaxation).

All my client sessions end with a calm, guided relaxation, this allows everything we have discussed in our session, sink into the subconscious part of their brain, where we have the ability to make long and lasting change. It is definitely everyone’s favourite part of their session!

Into a trance, we gently fall,
As Jane’s voice guides us all.
Our worries and doubts begin to fade,
As we enter a peaceful, calming shade.

Our mind is open, receptive, free,
To the suggestions given by she.
We let go of all that holds us back,
And embrace the change, we are on track.

Hypnosis, a journey within,
To find the strength and courage to begin.
Subconscious mind, ready and primed.
Our goals and dreams we seek to find.

So if you are seeking a change of heart,
Consider hypnotherapy, a brand new start.
A chance to let go and make positive change,
To live your life, you have now made.

🦋 T a k e C a r e O f Y o u r s e l f 🦋

There is a bit of a misconception that self care is seen as indulgent or selfish, this is so far from the truth.

Self care gives us the ability to cope well on a daily basis, to achieve all the things we need to accomplish in a day and to keep well and healthy.

The best way that I can define self care is by taking focussed steps to improving your physical and mental well-being consistently, after all you can’t pour from an empty cup.

So what can you do to practise self care? Here are a few ideas ~

🦋 Nourish your body
🦋 Keep hydrated
🦋 Exercise regularly
🦋 Practise good hygiene
🦋 Have a good sleep routine
🦋 Get the right amount of sleep, aiming for about 8 hours per night
🦋 Get outside in the fresh air
🦋 Read a book, do a puzzle, draw, play an instrument, paint
🦋 Interact with friends and family
🦋 Enjoy a cup of tea
🦋 Have a relaxing bath
🦋 Get your haircut
🦋 A massage
🦋 Manicure or pedicure
🦋 Write down 3 of your favourite things of the day every evening
🦋 Have some quiet time
🦋 Therapy or seeking help/support
🦋 Watching your favourite tv programme
🦋 Feel the sun on your face

As you can see there are so many ways you can practise self care. Taking care of yourself is the kindest thing you can do, for you.

🦋 F r e s h A i r 🦋

Are you feeling unmotivated or just a bit stuck? It’s a strange time of year where we come out of the busy festive period, through the not knowing what day it is between Christmas and New Year into going back to school/work/normal life.

A lot of people can find the constant changes tricky to navigate and can find this time of year overwhelming.

If you are feeling at all like this, I encourage you to get outside. A walk, a run, a bike ride or pottering in the garden. Round the block, to the forest, seaside or park. Whatever getting outside looks for you.

Being outside is proven to have a positive impact on your well-being lowering stress levels and bringing a sense of calm. Being somewhere green helps to boost your mood, increase your physical health, be more active, improve your confidence and self esteem, reduce loneliness and connect with nature.

Plan some time this week to get outdoors and connect with your surroundings.

🦋 C o r t i s o l 🦋

Did you know that our stress hormone is called cortisol?

Cortisol helps to prime us for a dangerous or perceived dangerous situation by activating our fight, flight or freeze response. This in-built alarm system, when our body is in balance, works beautifully to keep us safe.

We experience a spike in cortisol levels about 30 minutes after we wake up. When our body is free from stress and anxiety this spike helps us to get on with and focus on the day ahead.

When we are experiencing higher levels of stress in our life, our cortisol levels become erratic and therefore lead to higher anxiety levels, disrupted sleep and weight gain to name a few.

I know when i was struggling with my mental well-being, that rush of cortisol in the morning made me dread the day ahead and worry about what was going to go wrong.

Something i have learnt, is to take time in the morning rather than rush around, this helps me to feel more relaxed and think about my day in a calmer more rational way. I achieve this by making my morning cuppa and drinking it in bed before my day properly begins.

What small change could you make in the morning to ensure you approach your day in a calmer state of mind?

🦋 H e a l t h y B o d y H e a l t h y M i n d 🦋

Exercise is a big part of my life. I love the way it makes me feel mentally and physically and with my husband being a Running Coach it’s something as a family we embrace ⭐️

‘Orandum est ut sit mens sana in corpore sano’ - translating to ‘A healthy mind in a healthy body’ was coined by the Roman poet, Juvenal around the end of the first century AD.

The 2 really do go hand in hand. When we do any kind of physical exercise our mental and psychological well-being is improved. Physical exercise certainly was a huge part of my journey and improved my mental state massively. I guess this is why I’m so passionate about it, I’ve been there and I can see and feel the positive impact it had and continues to have on me.

Do you want to start moving more?
Do you want to incorporate physical exercise into your routine but there’s just a mental block?
Maybe you don’t know where to start?
Do you want to improve your performance?
Do you have an event that your working towards but have a few hurdles you need to get over?

If you would like to find out how I can help you with any of the above or anything else I may not have mentionned, please do get in touch.

✨ H a p p y N e w Y e a r ✨

I would like to take a moment to thank you all so much for your continued support. It can be a challenge running your own business, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love it and have certainly found my calling in life, but your support is amazing.

Thank you to my past, present and future clients for choosing me to be a part of your journey, it really does mean so much.

Thank you to those who have referred me to others. I can talk for hours about how incredible what I do is, however people will always trust those they know, so this truly means a lot.

Thank you for liking and sharing my posts. I try to make what I share valuable and informative. I appreciate not everyone wants or needs my services, sometimes people need a tip or to be shown how to do something, so likes and shares help me to reach further.

Lastly, I would like to wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year ✨

I am not one for making New Year resolutions, so I have chosen a word that I want to embrace more next year and that’s, Kindness (towards myself).

May 2026 guide you gently towards being that better version of you.
