It was my mental health journey that led me to do a job I love.
It was whilst trying for our son that I started to feel highly anxious. I had been told I was infertile, however after a miracle we found out that we were expecting and I felt this was my only shot at being a mummy, there was a lot of pressure. Following my sons traumatic birth he was taken seriously ill. The whole experience left me suffering with several mental health issues including anxiety, this became part of my life for the next 7 years. I was struggling, I was forming very unhelpful habits, I felt broken, stuck and desperate to move forward.
I tried different types of therapy and found going over the traumatic event involving my son was too painful and I was reliving my emotions in each session which was mentally and physically draining. I knew I had to move forward as I couldn’t change what had happened and I needed to let go and stop it impacting my daily life. It is this journey that fuelled my passion to help others further and which led me to train as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist.
I had solution focused hypnotherapy myself and it has helped me so much. I am aware of what triggers me and I am able to be calmer and cope better when my triggers arise, navigating my emotions better, finding solutions and keeping my thoughts in check. I don’t always get it right, I am not perfect but I am able to regain control and make the right decisions that help me navigate the situation.
Did you know that 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind in England in year.
1 in 5 report experiencing a common mental health problem, like anxiety or depression in any given week.
About 1 in 5 children or young people aged 8-25 will have a probable mental health problem.
Mental health matters. It’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you’re going through.
I did it and I am so thankful that I did.
